September 2, 1907 Mr. Paul E. Cox, Carbon, Indiana.
My dear Cox:-
I am glad to have your letter of the 28th, but I only wish you had written before when it became evident that you would have to look out for yourself. You would have had more time to look around.
Mr. J.E. Markley of Mason City Iowa, wrote me under date of May 26thf For a young man with knowledge of the chemistry of clays and the nature and workings of the same. The position may not now be open as I was unable to fill it, but it might be worth your while to try.
The Cambridge Tile Co. of Covington, Ky..just across the river from Cincinnati, want a man as assistant superintendent. The man who goes there would probably have to endure some hard knocks, but one with staying powers would probably work into a good position. They make dry press and plastic tile, both white and colored.
I enclose letters to save time. I thank you for the information as to the Hot Springs clay. I suspect the whole thing is only a move in high finance.
With kind regards, I am, Sincerely yours
CFB/B.
