Research Problem

According to Islomov (2021), phonetics also looks at the speech apparatus, syllables and their structure, as well as literary pronunciation conventions, sound changes, stress, intonation and its several kinds. Phonetics is also strongly related to physics, physiology and medicine, as well as orthography, orthopy, phonology, lexicology, grammar, dialectology and other areas of linguistics. For various reasons, speech sounds can be researched in, and in their current state. Speaking and phonetic are very related because according to Islomov (2021) he said that phonetic includes pronunciation, sound, stress and intonation in it, while we know that pronunciation is how we produce or pronounce the same words with phonetic, phonetic is how the sound is produced.

Significance of the research

Scope of the research

Literature Review of Related Finding

Research by Sahla (2015) looks for a relationship between two variables in this study: linguistic factors in writing competence and the impact of these factors on students' writing successes. Initial research focuses on linguistic factors that influence how arithmetic word problems are visualized, as well as possible solutions. The fourth focuses on factors that may affect EFL learners' speaking skills and the difficulties they face in speaking lessons.

Some Partinent Ideas 1. Concept of Linguistics

The relationship between speaking and phonetic (Linguistics)

According to Islomov (2021), phonetics also looks at the speech apparatus, syllables and their structure, as well as literary conventions of pronunciation, voice changes, stress, intonation and its various types. In addition, phonetics is closely related to physics, physiology, and medicine, as well as orthography, orthography, phonology, lexicology, grammar, dialectology, and other areas of linguistics. For a variety of reasons, speech sound can be researched in their current state. Based on the above understanding, speech and phonetics are very related because according to Islomov (2021) he said that phonetics includes pronunciation, sound, stress and intonation in it, while we know that pronunciation is the way we produce or pronounce the same words with him.

Conceptual Framework

According to Sugiono in Alia (2018), descriptive method is a method used to describe or analyze research results, but not more widely used. Qualitative document analysis (QDA) is a research method to thoroughly and methodically analyze the content of written documents, according to Wach and Ward (2013). In political science research, this method is used to facilitate objective and consistent study of initial policy B.

According to Hikmayana (2021), purposive sampling is a sampling strategy used by a researcher when he has specific criteria in mind when taking a sample.

Research Instrument

Document analysis provides data in the form of excerpts, quotations or whole pieces, which are then categorized and grouped into main subjects, categories and case studies.

Data collecting procedure

Data analysis is divided into three parts: data reduction, data display, and drawing or verifying a conclusion.

DISCUSSION

According to Rusadze and Kipiani (2015), the fluctuation in pitch when speaking is known as intonation in linguistics. According to the proposal, a framework for English intonation should include four main intonation features: intonation units, stress, tones and pitch. The researcher found that there were several students' stress errors that the researcher found, especially Semester 1 students in Class C at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar.

According to Rusadze and Kipiani (2015), unmarked tonic stress, emphatic stress, contrastive stress and new information stress are the four main types of stress identified. The researcher found that there were several students' vocal errors that the researcher found, especially semester 1 students of class C at the University of Muhammadiyah Makassar. And the most dominant cause of errors is caused by the influence of the mother tongue.

According to Reskiyani (2016), the researcher found that three types of mispronounced English sounds of Torajanese students were identified. According to Luviya (2016), the researcher found seven (7) consonants that respondents are likely to mispronounce. According to Rafael (2012), based on the data, the researcher committed nine different kinds of pronunciation problems according to the data analysis.

According to Dhani (2017) He found that the consonant [θ] was changed to consonant [t]; the consonant [ð] is changed to consonants [d] and [t]; consonant [v] is changed to consonant [f];.

CONCLUSION

This chapter is divided into two parts: the first deals with the final findings of the research, and the second with suggestions. In terms of consonant errors, the researcher found that there were more vowel errors in the students that he found, especially in the 1st semester students of class C at Muhammadiyah University Makassar. The researcher found that [ʃ] consonant sound changed to [c] consonant [ð] consonant changed to [d] and [t] consonant, [ʒ].
