Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana persepsi siswa terhadap evaluasi guru dalam menentukan motivasinya di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas A sampai C kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar yang berjumlah 24 siswa yang akan disurvei. Menganalisis Persepsi Siswa Terhadap Evaluasi Guru Bahasa Inggris Kelas VIII di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar (Penelitian Deskriptif).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana persepsi siswa terhadap evaluasi guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas A sampai kelas C siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar dan berjumlah 24 siswa yang menjadi narasumber. Alhamdulillahi Robbil Alamin puji syukur kami panjatkan kehadirat Allah SWT yang telah memberikan hidayah, rahmat dan rahmat kepada peneliti sehingga dapat menyelesaikan skripsi ini.

In practice, the teacher should focus on how to activate students' innate abilities and involve them in the learning process. Scriven (1967) proposes the use of "formative and summative" assessment to distinguish between the roles of evaluation. Based on the previous background, the researcher formulates research question is "What is the students' perception about English teachers' assessment of the students' motivation to learn at Eight Grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar?". Based on the research question, the purpose of this research is to know the students' perception about English teachers' assessment to articulate the students' motivation to learn at grade eight of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar. Theoretically, this research can give us additional information and addition basic of the research for any researchers who want to do in the subject (students' motivation about teachers' . assessment) or something related to this research.

The aim of this research is to examine the perception of students about the assessment of English teachers. In this case, the researcher analyzed the students' perception of the assessment of English teachers in relation to the students. There were some researchers who researched students' perceptions of the assessment of English teachers.

They believe that formative and summative assessment can play a more critical role in promoting student learning in the classroom. FINDING AND DISCUSION

Discussions

The data obtained through observation, questionnaire and documentation, showed that the teacher's evaluation has the greatest influence on the motivation of the students in the learning process. Therefore, if the teacher gives value in the form of a number, the student is more satisfied and clearer. This is proven by the students' answers to the question: "Can the teacher's evaluation motivate you to study?".

Based on the findings and discussion, the researcher concludes that teacher evaluation can give students motivation for the learning process. For the most part, students believe that evaluation in the form of a number can motivate them more and claim that values ​​in numbers are formed clearly and satisfactorily. Teacher evaluation can be a form of respect for students as it could motivate students for their learning process.

Based on the results, the researcher concludes that most students chose assessment in the form of numbers because they felt it was higher and clearer. Mostly students perceive that by giving values ​​they could find out how long their learning skills and a teacher evaluation can be a form of appreciation for students because students could be motivated on their learning process at Eight Grade SMP Muahmmadiyah 1 Makassar. For the eighth grade English teacher at SMP Muhammadyah 1 Makassar, it is suggested to assess honesty and also be better to give grades in the form of numerical scores and show students' learning results so that students can be known and motivated to be more active in learning. treat.

For further researchers, the results of this research can be a reference for conducting further research on teachers' assessment of student motivation.
