This paper presents mitigation voltage sag/swell and harmonics using in low voltage distribution network using DVR supplied by BES and PV system. This combination is called DVR-BES-PV and compared to DVR-Cap, DVR-BES, and DVR-Cap-PV. The UVTG method is used to control series active filter at DVR when injects compensation voltage during voltage sag/swell disturbance. The DVR-BES-PV is able to generate the lowest percentage of sag/swell and its value has met IEEE 1159. This combination is also capable of resulting the lowest average THD of load voltage and its value has fulfilled limit prescribed in IEEE 519. Therefore, combination of DVR-BES-PV is able to result the best performance in mitigation of sag/swell and harmonics on load bus compared to the other three DVR combinations. Simulation and analysis of this paper uses Matlab/Simulink environment.

This research is interesting, however author must pay attention to items below.
Improve the English usage.
Some english mistake have been found by reviewer, e.g.
1. The weakness of this capacitor is to have limited energy storage capacity 2. Check and ensure the word of "standart"
Please make sure the figure sub captions are clearly readable, such as "(d) 60% Sag With DVR + Capasitor + PV"
The sub caption font size must be bigger to make reader easier to read understand the meaning.
Please make sure fonts in all figures are readable.
"Figure 1 shows proposed..."must be "Fig. 1 shows proposed..." make it suitable with the figure caption (template).
Take the advantage of the available free online grammar and spelling checking facility.
Use the English grammar correctly.
Be careful of the problems with Subject/Verb Agreement.
Be careful of the problems with Double Verb, Double Subject.
Be careful of the problems with prepositions and objects of prepositions in a prepositional phrase.
Define the abbreviation before its first usage and pay attention for first letter must be capital.
e.g.
1. What THD does stand for? explain it.
2. voltage source inverter (VSI)

Kepada: Agus Kiswantono <[email protected]>, Eko Prasetyo <[email protected]>, Amirullah Amirullah
Dear Mr. Agus Kiswantono: Greetings from the committee of EECCIS 2018. The committee intends to give some explanation regarding submission of the paper to IEEE Xplore, and other important information about EECCIS 2018 conference. Since this email contains important information, please read the whole email thoroughly.
To maintain the quality of the paper and to ease the submission process to the IEEE, there are some important points that need to be fulfilled by the author(s):
1. Please make the necessary changes based on reviewer’s comments and suggestions. The Technical Paper Committee will check whether the revision has been performed or not.
2. Please double check if the formatting and the font style of the final manuscript are matching the template file found in https://www.ieee.org/content/dam/ieee-org/ieee/web/org/conferences/Conference-template-A4.doc, and the page number of the final manuscript is 4-6 pages.
3. According to international regulations, the similarity score of camera-ready paper should be less than or equal to 30%. Please try to lower the similarity score if it found to be higher than 30%. You can refer to the detail paper page in EDAS to see the similarity score of your paper.
4. Proofread your final manuscript or camera-ready version to a proofreader, so that a good level of English could be applied in the manuscript. Mistakes in grammar, style, and spelling could be considered a significant error.
5. Please register the paper no later than September 15th, 2018. Registering the paper includes both online registration in EDAS website and paying for the conference fee. The detail about registering the paper will be explained below.
6. Please upload the final manuscript before September 25th, 2018 in PDF format. Please upload the final manuscript in the Final Manuscript section, not on the “Review Manuscript” row. Other detail about the final manuscript will be explained below.
7. At least one of the author presents the paper in the conference venue.
Please be aware that the committee has a right to exclude the paper from submission to IEEE Xplore if the author(s) fail to fulfill any of the aforementioned points. The committee may contact the author(s) after the conference date if there is any point (other than point 5-7) that are not met. Late reply from the author(s) could result in the excluding submission of the final manuscript to IEEE Xplore also.
Other than information about submitting to the IEEE Xplore, the committee would like to inform again about some important information below:
a. About the detail of the paper. The detail of the paper could be seen at http://edas.info/showPaper.php?m=1570466442.
Most information that will be explained below could be accessed on this webpage.
b. About the title, abstract, and author list. Please confirm about the title, abstract, the list of author (including its order) in the paper detail page. Since this information will be included in the conference book, please inform the committee if there are any changes needed at most September 15th 2018 to [email protected]. If an author is needed to be added, please provide with a complete name and the EDAS ID.
c. Since there is a discount for student and IEEE member, please show an active student card or an active IEEE member card corresponding to the author when attending the conference.
d. If author need a LoA, please request it to [email protected]. Original receipt with a wet stamp will be provided in the conference location, if author need a digital receipt prior to the conference date, please request it also to [email protected]

payment, please fill in the information about the credit card directly on the EDAS website.
Please do the online registration first, before transferring the payment. This is to ensure that the committee could change the status of the registration into “paid” in the EDAS website when the committee confirms the transfer. If the committee receives the transfer before any of the authors register the paper online, the committee can’t verify in EDAS website if the registration already paid.
If the author(s) already transfer the payment without making an online registration first, please do the online registration soon, and inform the committee by email at [email protected] and [email protected] if the online registration has been done. 3. Already transferring the copyright to IEEE. Copyright form could be accessed in the paper detail page, above the review manuscript row. Submit your copyright form electronically by choosing “IEEE Copyright Submission”.
Every Final Manuscript must use PDF eXpress to create the PDF file to ensure Xplore compatibility. Proofread your source document thoroughly to confirm that it will require no revision. Any changes made to a PDF after IEEE PDF eXpress conversion or PDF Checking may invalidate Xplore compatibility. This includes headers, page numbers, copyright notice, watermarks, etc. If any of these elements are desired, they should be added to the document before a PDF is created.
h. To create IEEE PDF eXpress file:
Log in to the IEEE PDF eXpress TM site (http://www.pdf-express.org/) First-time users should do the following:
1. Select the “New Users - Click Here” link.
2. Enter the following: -- 43816X for the Conference ID -- your email address -- a password 3. Continue to enter information as prompted.
An Online confirmation will be displayed and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.
Previous users of PDF eXpress need to follow the above steps but should enter the same password that was used for previous conferences. Verify that your contact information is valid.

Kepada: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Dear all respected author.
Thank you very much for your contribution to EECCIS 2018.
According to the email that was sent on Sept 12th, 2018, one of the keys for successfully submitting to the IEEE Xplore is the formatting that matched to the IEEE template file.
Based on the internal evaluation, the committee found minor(s) difference(s) in the final manuscript formatting that already submitted.
List of the formatting check is attached, as well as the IEEE template (doc file) that used as a reference. Please refer to the template file for editing the minor revision. If you use IEEE LaTex template, please refer to that file.
Since the committee only have 5 days left for submitting to the IEEE with some others steps are still needed after receiving the final manuscript, we really hope that the author submit the revised final manuscript at most Monday, Nov 5th, 2018 23.59 (GMT)
Please be advised that title modifications are prohibited after the conference event since the attendance list with the printed title is already submitted to the IEEE.
Please doublecheck that the title in the IEEE Copyright Submission is matched to the title in the final manuscript.
Thank you very much for your attention.

Dear Mr. Amirullah Amirullah
Thank you very much for your contribution to EECCIS 2018.
We received some notifications from the authors regarding the problem of submitting the revised final manuscript to the EDAS system in the last few hours.
It seems that the EDAS website is experiencing some problem(s) in their system lately.
With only 4 days left for preparing the submission to the IEEE Xplore, this is an unfortunate event for the authors and the committees.
Thus, the committee would like to request the original file of the final manuscript.
The committee planned to use these files as a backup for preparing the submission to the IEEE Xplore, in case the problem(s) still occurred regarding the EDAS website.
We really hope that one of the authors from every paper willing to send:
1. The original file in doc or zipped LaTex format.
2. PDF files converted by using PDF eXpress.
to
before Nov 5, 2018, 23.59 (GMT).
If one of the authors already sent these materials in the last few hours, there is no need to resend it again.
However, the committees still urge the authors who need to revise the formatting to retry uploading the revised final manuscript (that already converted by using PDF eXpress) to the EDAS system every few hours today.
We are really sorry for the inconvenience.

Dear Mr. Agus Kiswantono
Thank you very much for your attention.
Best regard.

Mitigation Voltage Sag/Swell and Harmonics using DVR Supplied by BES and PV System
Abstract—This paper presents mitigation voltage sag/swell and harmonics using in low voltage distribution network using DVR supplied by BES and PV system. Therefore, combination of DVR- BES-PV is able to result the best performance in mitigation of sag/swell and harmonics on load bus compared to the other three DVR combinations. Simulation and analysis of this paper uses Matlab/Simulink environment.

The lack of fossil energy source and increased awareness of environmental impacts, causing renewable energy sources i.e. photovoltaic (PV) and wind to grow rapidly as an alternative energy to generate electricity. The power generated by PV is DC, so it requires an inverter before it operates and is connected to distribution network. The weakness of PV is in addition to supplying power to grid, it also generates harmonics due to the existence of voltage source inverter (VSI) on active filter series so can reduce power quality. On the other hand with increased penetration of sensitive loads, causing power quality problems in distribution system has increased significantly. The most serious and frequent disturbances in grid voltage are sag, swell, and short-circuit. The sag is a decrease in rms voltage value between 10-90% which lasts from one half cycle to one minute. The swell is an increase in source rms voltage in a short time interval whose value ranges from 1.1 pu to 1.8 p.u from nominal source voltage. The device effectively and comprehensively capable for addressing sag/swell fault is Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR). Investigation on sag compensation using DVR with unit vector template generation (UVTG) method has been done [1]. The DVR is able to compensate for balanced and unbalanced sag and inject desired voltage component to rapidly repair a number of disruption anomalies alongside source voltage to keep load voltage constant and balanced at nominal value.
However that research did not discuss mitigation voltage swell and harmonics due to presence of sensitive voltage devices on load side.
The comparative analysis of compensation techniques i.e.
phase-compensation method, pre-dip compensation method (called compensation of large voltage difference) and intelligent phase compensation method have been investigated [2]. Laboratory based testing with a number of disturbance scenarios including sag on source side and load
power factor have been performed as validation of results against each proposed methods. Investigation models for self-supported DVR control had been proposed by [3]. The three of three phase harmonics filters (double tuned) are used for harmonic migration generated by voltage source converter (VSC). The results showed that low-rating DVR can compensate for sag/swell and reduce voltage THD on load bus according to IEEE 519. DVR performance to sag and load voltage harmonics using Sinusoidal Pulse control Width Modulation (SPWM) and Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) has been researched by [4].
Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) method was used for sag voltage detection and generating modulating signal. The research showed that load voltage THD using SVPWM is smaller than SPWM method. Nevertheless, performance of SVPWM and SPWM with load voltage swell did not discussed in this work. The configuration integration of grid connected PV system together self-supported DVR had been proposed [5]. The system was called the "six-port converter,"
a whole composed of nine semiconductor switches, reduced from the previous 12 semiconductors. The configurations were capable of operating in different modes based on grid conditions and PV generation power. The research mode was the normal grid mode, fault mode, sag mode, and non-active PV mode.
DVR consists of an injection transformer, series active filter, DC voltage source, and energy storage. Energy storage commonly used is a DC link capacitor. The weakness of this device is to have limited energy storage capacity. To overcome these problem, this paper proposes implementation of battery energy storage (BES) supplied by PV to mitigate sag/swell and harmonics on low voltage distribution network. This combination is called DVR-BES-PV and installed on three phase distribution lines to maintain voltage on sensitive load. The advantages is BES has a larger storage capacity than capacitor. Otherwise, PV can be used as an alternative DC voltage source to charge BES when its capacity reduced and provides active power required for compensation when voltage sag/swell occurs. The UVTG method is used to control series active filter in DVR when injects compensation voltage during voltage sag/swell disturbance occurs. The nominal percentage of voltage sag/swell disturbances at sources bus is 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. This research is performed on percentage of voltage sag/swell, and voltage THD on load bus based on DVR circuit configuration and disturbance scenarios. The effectiveness of proposed combination then is compared to DVR with capacitor (DVR-Cap), DVR with BES (DVR- BES), and DVR with capacitor supplied by PV (DVR-Cap- PV). Futhermore, the results are compared and validated with IEEE 1159 for voltage disturbance standards and IEEE 519 for power quality standards.
II. RESEARCH METHOD
A. Proposed Method
Figure 1 shows proposed model of DVR using BES supplied by PV. This model is located between source bus (PCC) and load bus connected to sensitive load. The PCC bus is then connected to a three phase grid through a 380 V and 50 Hz three phase low voltage distribution line. The DVR circuit consists of an injection transformer, filter circuit, active series filter, DC voltage source, and energy storage. Energy storage used previuosly is a DC link capacitor circuit. The weakness of this capacitor is to have limited energy storage capacity. The PV produces output voltage and becomes as input for DC/DC boost converter.
The MPPT with Perturb and Observer (P and O) algorithm further helps single phase PV to generate maximum power.
The DC output voltage of PV is relatively low value and then raised by the boost DC/DC converter at appropriate voltage level in order to generate active power to charge BES.
BES has a larger storage capacity than capacitor, while PV generator is used as an alternative source of DC voltage to fill the BES as its capacity decreases and provides active power required for compensation when voltage sag/swell occurs. The PV help the self-charging process of BES from the system during no fault (stand by mode). The series active filter component of DVR is controlled by Unit Vector Template Generation (UVTG) Method to adjust voltage between source and load bus so that voltage becomes
balanced, distortion free, and kept its magnitude steady. The UVTG method is also used to generate a trigger pulse in a six-pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit required by series active filters, thus generating an injection voltage to compensate for voltage sag/swell on load bus. The devices and simulation parameters of proposed model are presented in Appendix.
This paper proposes mitigation voltage sag/swell and harmonics using DVR supplied by BES and PV system connected to distribution network. DVR is located between load bus and source (PCC) bus through a 380 V and 50 Hz low voltage distribution line. There are four DVR combination i.e. DVR-Cap, DVR-BES, DVR-Cap-PV, and DVR-BES-PV. Each combination has two disturbance scenarios are sag and swell which generated on source bus respectively. Nominal percentage of voltage sag/swell are 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. The analysis of research is performed on percentage of voltage sag, voltage swell, and voltage harmonics on load bus based on DVR circuit configuration and disturbance scenarios which ditermined before. To verify the effectiveness and advantages of DVR supplied by BES and PV system, this model is compared to the other of three DVR combinations. Then, the results are compared and validated with IEEE 1159 voltage disturbance standards and IEEE 519 power quality standards [6-10].
Simulation and analysis of this project use Matlab/Simulink environment.

(5) C. UVTG Method in Controlling Series Active Filter
The main function of series active filter is as a sensitive load protection against a number of voltage distrubances at source bus. The control strategy algorithm of the source and load voltage in series active filter is shown in Fig 3. It extracts the unit vector templates unit generation (UVTG) from the distorted input supply. Furthermore, the templates are expected to be ideal sinusoidal signal with unity amplitude. The distorted supply voltages are measured and divided by peak amplitude of fundamental input voltage Vm given in (6) [12].

D. Voltage Sag/Swell
The voltage sag is defined as a decrease in the value of rms voltage between 10-90% which goes on from one half cycle to one minute. The voltage sag can affect to the phase or amplitude. The most voltages sag occur due to a
single phase to ground short circuit. An unbalanced short circuit can trigger an unbalanced phase and shift it from its nominal value. The starting of motor with high power can also cause voltage sag. The amplitude of the voltage sag depends on several factors i.e. type, location, and impedance disturbance. The voltage sag in each busbar is different depending on location of disturbance. The duration of the voltage sag is determined by duration of protection duration time clearing disturbance i.e. the extent to which voltage sag is able to be removed.
The voltage swell is an increase in source rms voltage in short time intervals whose value ranges from 1.1 pu to 1.8 p.u from nominal source voltage. Although the duration time of voltage sag/swell is short, interference can affect sensitive loads such as computers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable speed drives (VSDs) on motor and simultaneously reducing efficiency of these devices. DVR is a special power electronics device used to reduce voltage sag/swell. DVR applications are used to protect sensitive loads that may be drastically affected by voltage fluctuations in the distribution system [13]. The recommended standart of practice on monitoring voltage sag/swell as the part of electric power quality parameters is IEEE 1159-1995 [14]. This standart presents definition and table of voltage sag/voltage base on catagories (instantaoeous, momentary, temporary) typical duration, and typical magnitude. The percentage of voltage sag/swell is formulated in (7) and (8) [15]:

III. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
The analysis of proposed model is performed through determination of five combinations circuit i.e. (1) without DVR, (2) DVR-Cap, (3) DVR-BES, (4) DVR-Cap-PV, and (5) DVR-BES-PV. Each combination has two scenarios are sag and swell voltages which generated by disturbance on source bus. The nominal percentage of voltage sag/swell is 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. The DVR combination is installed on three phase distribution lines to maintain voltage on sensitive load. By using Matlab/Simulink, then this proposed models are run based on the desired scenario to obtain curve of source voltage (VS) and load voltage (VL), voltage sag percentage (%), and voltage swell percentage (%) using (7) and (8) with pre voltage sag/swell equal as 309.3 V. Furthermore, source voltage THD and load voltage THD in each phase, as well as their average value are also determined based on obtained curve before. The total duration time of simulation occurs for 0.2 seconds with duration of sag/swell voltage disturbance between 0.06-0.14 s. The voltage THD in each phase is determined in one cycle started at t = 0.1 s. Further, the percentage of load voltage sag (%), average THD of source voltage, and average THD of load voltage in each combinations and scenarios are presented in Table 1. By using the same procedure for voltage swell disturbances, the parameters and their simulated results are also shown in Table 2. Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 present load voltage performance of 60% sag and swell with four different scenarios.
