Face
and head ochreousfuscous.Thorax
ochreousfuscous with adeepblack- ishbrown
central longitudinalline. Forewings broad with evenly rather stronglycurved costa,bluntlypointed apex andstraighttermen and dor- sum;light ochreus with threedarkfuscous outwardlyobliquecross-lines asinStenoma
tristrigellaZellerand with a dark line around theentire edge; the firstand secondcross-linesare nearlystraightand parallel from basal thirdand
from the middle of costa respectively, and both curve slightlyoutward, as theyapproach thedorsal edge; thethirdline, whichisnearerto the second than this is to the first, is bent outwardlyin a gentle curve and meets the second at theanal angle.
Hindwings
light fuscous, darker towards thetip.
Abdomen
dark fuscous. Posterior legs lightochreous.Alar expanse, 32-34 mm.

Head
and thorax dark fuscous. Forewings shaped asinStenoma
elegans Zeller, buthardly as pronounced; dark brownishfuscous with a dusting of silveryscalesand three oblique dark-browncross-lines; these are aboutequivalentandall nearlyparallel;onefrom
basal third of costa, onefrom the middle,and
one fromapical third,thelastnearly straight across the tip ofthe wing, thetwo others gentlycurved outward as theyapproach thedorsal edge, which theydo
not quite reach.Hindwings
dark fuscous. Both pairs of wings on the underside with bright-yellow costal edges.Abdomen
dark fuscous above with reddish ochreous cross-bars; underside light ochreous.
