These courses are identified as such in the Course Descriptions section of the law school website. If the reason is not acceptable to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs or the instructor, a grade of W or F will be assigned at the instructor's discretion. A grade of I may be changed to a W only with the consent of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.

Standards for Academic Exclusion and Readmission

The university allows one year to drop an I, although the professor can shorten this time. When an I is assigned, the instructor implicitly authorizes and requires that the I be changed to an F at the end of the appropriate time period, unless the instructor otherwise acts to remove the I. The Registrar's Office will automatically change the I to an F at the end of the appropriate time period.

Both the student and the instructor in whose course the student received an I will be notified of this grade change. In rare cases, at the end of the initial one-year period, the professor and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs may approve an extension for an additional specified period. If both the vice dean for student affairs and the professor agree to the extension, grade IX is entered.

For the purposes of these rules, the following are core courses: Civil Procedure I & II, Contracts I & II, Criminal Law, LARC I, II & III, Property, Torts, and Constitutional Law. Students changing from part-time to full-time status must take the remaining required core courses (Property, . Constitutional Law, and Legal Research) in the fall and spring of their sophomore year and must attend these courses as planned in the part-time division. Students making this change are cautioned, however, that many electives assume successful completion of all required core courses.

Restrictions on Work Hours

Grades from transferred course credits will not be used to calculate a student's cumulative grade point average at IU McKinney School of Law. A student must maintain a grade point average of at least 2.3 or be subject to academic suspension at the end of the first semester in which he is enrolled. Cancellation Policy - Immediately upon acceptance to the study abroad program, a student must pay a $300 deposit to hold their place in the program. Once paid, the program fee will be nonrefundable, with the exception that a refund of the program fee (without the deposit) will be permitted in exceptional circumstances that make attending the program unduly burdensome for the student.

Transfer Credit Fee

Once a student attends any class in the program, the program fee will not be refunded under any circumstances. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if IU McKinney cancels a program due to insufficient student response or for any other reason, all monies paid will be refunded. A student completing a course or courses in an IU McKinney program abroad must pay the program fees charged for the program and 50% of the tuition for the credits earned that the student would have paid if the credits had been earned at IU McKinney.

The base payment used for this purpose will be that in effect in the academic year in which the credit is earned. Students may apply for no more than 12 credits earned in a program abroad toward the 90 required for the J.D.

Special Rules for Graduating 3Ls

In addition, the committee will periodically obtain information from the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs to evaluate this change policy and ensure compliance with the law school's academic standards. Experiential Learning; Student Practice Certification

Student consent is voluntary provided the anonymity of any objecting student is preserved by the following. Within twenty (20) business days of receiving the complaint, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs must either meet with the complainant or respond to the content of the complaint in writing. Complaints may be submitted to the Dean of the Department of Law within seven (7) days after the complainant receives a response from the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

Student Conduct and Discipline

These procedures provide important due process rights to any student accused of misconduct, such as notice of the charges, an opportunity to respond, and appellate review.

To schedule an appointment for individual or group counseling, call or visit the office in person. The IUPUI Financial Aid office is in the IUPUI Campus Center, 420 University Blvd., room CE 250A. Visitors to parking services enter the garage at the second entrance by taking a ticket from the machine at the gate and then proceed to the designated visitor parking spaces available on the first level of the garage near the office.
