But it is influenced by several factors, namely: the characteristics of the text being read and the characteristics of the reader. The experience of the researcher when the researcher Magang 1 in Madresah Aliyah Bontomarannu was that many students lack critical reading, especially in the clear, implied and English text perspective. The researcher wants to conduct research in Madrasa Aliyah Bontomarannu because most of the students have a low level of critical reading strategy for literary competence.

Based on the above phenomenon, the researcher is interested in analyzing the ability of the students to read critically about literary competencies. In the study titled "The analysis of students' ability in using a critical reading strategy for reading comprehension at Madrasah Aliyah Bontomarannu, Takalar". How is the students' ability to apply critical reading strategy to reading comprehension in class XI MIA 2 of Madrasah Aliyah Bontomarannu?

Based on the research problem, the research objectives of this study is to find out the students' ability in using critical reading strategy on reading comprehension at the Class XI MIA 2 of Madrasah Aliyah Bontomarannu. The English teacher invites the teachers to use the Critical Reading Strategy in teaching reading comprehension. The scope of this research in reading comprehension is limited to the students' ability to critical reading strategy, it focused two types of critical reading comprehension, the first type is the understanding of implicit and explicit meaning of words in the text and the second types are mention point view of the text by Eleventh Grade Students of Madrasah Aliyah Bontomarannu, Takalar.

The level of critical reading involves the ability to obtain information through the process of critical thinking. Critical reading is the evaluation of written material—comparing the ideas discovered in the material to known standards and making judgments about accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness. Critical reading is a reading process in which the goal is to deeply understand the information contained in the reading, both in the explicit information of the written message and the hidden purpose of the text.

Critical reading also includes the level of reading skills that aim to deeply understand the meaning of the text by applying. Concluded that critical reading is a reading skill level process that aims to understand the meaning of a text in depth by applying the process of critical thinking and includes the ability of analysis, synthesis and evaluation to understand the meaning of a reading that is read , explicitly or implicitly. Critical reading skills are essential for effective communication, problem solving, and analysis in the humanities, and indeed, for any profession and field of study.

According to Albert in Wainwright (2007), critical reading is the kind of reading that is done effectively, evaluatively, analytically, in depth, and not just looking for the error. The Critical Reading Strategies concept is a curriculum that combines critical reading strategies, conceptual knowledge in science, and supporting student motivation. As for the concept of a critical reading strategy, it is highly motivating, as is the content knowledge and reading comprehension involved in the reader's involvement in its development.

Conceptual Framework

The indicator of this research was the analysis of students' ability to use the critical reading strategy in reading comprehension in terms of understanding the implicit and explicit meaning of the words in the text and mentioning the point of view of the text. Meanwhile, the lowest percentage of explicit students was 0% in the fair and bad category, and from the point of view, the percentage was 47.06% in the bad category. Based on the findings, the result of the calculation showed that the percentage of implicit critical understanding of the student was 52.94%.

Based on the findings, the result of the calculation showed that the average score of the students for reading comprehension was 47.06%. The explicit type is more dominant with the question in the text and the average score of the students who read the text was categorized as good. The following researchers are suggested to use the results of this study as additional reference and comparative research in terms of the analysis of students' ability to apply the critical reading strategy to reading comprehension.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

The result of finding showed that most of the students gave result of learning in the teaching process because it is found that most students' poor category for critical reading strategy implemented by the teacher in reading learning. The goal of explicit was to determine the meaning of the text being read. This chapter is the last part of the study, which consists of conclusion and proposal.

Based on the result of the research, the researcher concluded that the eleventh grade students of MA Bontomarannu had a result of learning about the use of critical reading strategy by their English teacher. Implicit type is low. The question in the text and the average score of the students who read the text were categorized as poor and the point of view is lower. It was proved by the result of the analysis, the students' ability to the method used by the teacher, which has a significant impact on improving the quality of students' understanding of the text, analyzing the text, creating new ideas and getting new information about learning. For the English teacher at Madresah Aliyah Bontomarannu, it is useful to apply the critical reading strategy as one of the alternative ways in teaching reading in narrative text to make a variation in teaching reading in narrative text so that students do not get bored in learning English. especially in reading in narrative text.
