IU grants a military leave of absence without pay if you are enlisted through Selective Service, voluntarily enlisted, or called up through membership in the National Guard or a reserve component of the United States Armed Forces or the Coast Guard. Corrective action must also be related to the seriousness of the violation and the employee's work record; therefore it is possible that steps may be skipped or repeated. Violations of the conflict of interest and conflict of commitment policies may include disciplinary action up to and including termination.
