MINUTES OF THE

LONG RUN ASSOOIATION

Held at Chenoweth's Run on the first Friday in Sep- tember 1829 and the two following days. A discourse was delivered by Brother David Stand. ford fram the fourth chapter of the Epistle to the Ephesians.

Letters fram the churches composing the Association vere called for, read and the messengers' names en- roled as follows.

The association proceeded to the choice of a modera- tor and clerk. Beo. Waller was chosen Moderator &

Robert Gailbreath Clerk. Letters to Corresponding associations were called for, read & their messen-

(A letter was received fram a newly Constituted Church on Gosecreek for admitance into the association which was refered to the next association. A letter was received from a newly Constituted Church on Pondcreek for admitance into the association which was also refered to the next association. The circular letter was called for, read and cODttni tted to the committee of arrangement. The moderator &

clerk, B. Allen, Z. Carpenter, J. Holland. and. T. Davis were appointed said camnittee. Then adjourned till tomorrow 9 O'clock.

Saturday morning the association met according to adjournment and. after praise & prayer proceeded to business. The report of the committee of arrange- ment was called for and adopted. The association took

into consideration a request of the church at Floyds- fork in relation to the raising of a fund for the support of the Gospel, which was laid on the table.

Agreed that the next association be held at Drennons creek, New-Castel Henry County on the first Friday in September 1830. Agreed that the Union meetings for the ensueing year be a follows. The first at Little flock, Bullete County. The second at Dover.

Third at Plum creek. Fourth at Bethel. Letters

The following brethren were appointed to preach on tomorrow Parker, Newport and Cook. Brother Hulsey to preach the next introductory sermon and in case of failure J. Curl. Brother Dale to write the next Circular letter. The association appointed a com- mittee consisting of Z. Carpenter, Geo. Waller, J.

Hulsey, R. Cotre11, B. C. Stephens for the purpose of conferring with the clrurches on Pondcreek and GooaeCreek and report to the next association. Our brother Herbert C. Thompson the general agent of the American Bible Society being now present with us and having visited this State for the purpose

of aiding the friends of the Bible in their efforts to promote a more extensiv~ circulation of the holy Scriptures & especially tofnrnish all the destitute families in this state that may be willing to pur-

chase or receive the scriptures with a copy of the Bible. Resolved that we recommend to our fellow citizens generally and particulari1y to the brethren of our Own denomination to organize Bible Societies in the different towns and congregations throughout the state of Kentucky.
