Konsepsi siswa merupakan hasil interaksi siswa terhadap konsep-konsep.
Konsepsi siswa dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik materi, siswa dan guru.
Miskonsepsi dan ketidak pahaman yang dialami siswa merupakan permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran yang dapat menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Pada materi larutan penyangga terdapat gambaran “chemistry angle” yang memungkinkan siswa memiliki pemahaman yang beragam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : (1) mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis proses pembelajaran (perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi) pada materi larutan penyangga; (2) mengidentifikasikan konsepsi siswa pada materi larutan penyangga; (3) mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi konsepsi siswa pada proses pembelajaran larutan penyangga.
Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA N 16 Padang pada kelas XI IA 1 dan XI IA 2.
Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik tes dan teknik nontes.
Teknik tes berupa tes diagnostik bertingkat dua. Tes diagnostik bertingkat dua digunakan untuk mengetahui konsepsi siswa setelah dilaksanakannya proses pembelajaran. Teknik non tes berupa observasi dan wawancara. Dalam melaksanakan observasi terhadap proses pembelajaran peneliti menggunakan Permendiknas No 41 tahun 2007 tentang standar proses untuk satuan pendidikan dasar dan menengah.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada kelas XI IA 1 dan XI IA 2 di SMA N 16 Padang diketahui bahwa (1) perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran larutan penyangga belum sepenuhnya mengacu kepada Permendiknas No 41 tahun 2007, (2) penilaian yang dilakukan belum sesuai dengan Permendiknas No 20 tahun 2007 tentang standar penilaian pendidikan (3) Siswa mengalami miskonsepsi dan tidak paham pada ke tujuh konsep yang ada pada larutan penyangga, dengan tingkat paham tertinggi pada konsep sifat larutan penyangga, tingkat miskonsepsi tertinggi pada konsep pH larutan penyangga asam dan tingkat tidak paham tertinggi pada konsep fungsi larutan penyangga (4) Konsepsi siswa di dipengaruhi oleh beberapa hal di antaranya siswa, materi, guru, dan media.

Conceptions students is the result of interaction students to the concepts.
Conceptions students are influenced by the characteristics of the material, students and teachers. Misconceptions and unfamiliarity experienced by students is a problem in the learning process that can lead to low student learning outcomes.
Buffer solution on the material contained an image of "chemistry angle" that allows students to have a diverse understanding. The purpose of this research were: (1) describe and analyze the learning process (planning, implementation and evaluation) the material buffer solution (2) identify students on the material conception of the buffer solution (3) identify the factors that influence students' conceptions on the learning process of the buffer solution. . This research used descriptive qualitative research design. The research was carried out in senior high school 16 Padang in class XI IA and XI 1 IA 2.
Data collection techniques used are non-technical tests and tests. Mechanical tests by using two-tier multiple-choice diagnostic instrument. Two-tier multiple-choice diagnostic tests used to determine the conception of students after the implementation of the learning process. Non-testing techniques in the form of observation and interviews. In carrying out observations of the learning process researchers use Permendiknas No. 40 of 2007 on a standard process for elementary and secondary education units.
Based on the results of research on class XI IA 1 and XI IA 2 at SMA N 16 Padang is known that (1) lesson planning and implementation of the buffer solution is not in accordance with Permendiknas No. 41 of 2007, (2) assessment conducted not yet in accordance with Permendiknas No. 20 of 2007 on the assessment standards of education (3) Students have misconceptions and do not get on to the seven concepts that exist in the buffer solution, with the highest level of understanding on the concept of the nature of the buffer solution, the highest level of misconceptions on the concept of buffer pH acid and the highest level do not understand the concept function of the buffer solution (4) Conception students affected by several things including students, materials, teachers and the media.
