As I approach of my works in Faculty of Animal Science at the Universitas Brawijaya, I am writing to inquire about participating in the Full bright scholarship in the United States in order to gain more proficiency in my major. Much of my work has been based at the university and research.
Having been accepted into the Masters in Animal Science at National Pingtung University Science and Technology, I am writing to express my interest in participating in the full bright scholarship in the United states. I have overcome the disadvantages of an underprivileged background to obtain a M.Sc. graduating summa cum laude. As you will see, the research I intend to pursue is focused on the program’s aims of the animal science including animal science and animal welfare. This scholarship would help me pursue those aims and directly benefit the result from others. I have started contributed to my faculty and university, including curating the National council of feed in Bogor. I worked at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, East Java, Indonesia and have published a number of well- reviewed academic papers on reputable indexed. My career aim is to become a lecturer and researcher which well-contributed for national.
First. I interest with research focusing in animal welfare. Recently, Indonesia are worst to implementing the animal welfare. I think ensuring animal welfare is a human responsibility that includes consideration for all aspect of animal well-being, including proper housing, feed and nutrition, disease prevention, treatment, handling and so on. The expansion of the animal population under human care has occurred at a great cost their welfare, particularly in the last decades. For example, productivity gains that increased the efficiency of meat, egg and dairy production arose predominantly through the selection of fast-growing and highly productive breeds. This has stretched physiological limits beyond natural limits, greatly increasing the incidence of metabolic, bone and joint disorders. Additionally, housing systems involving the confinement of large groups of animals in barren conditions were adopted widely, depriving animals of the possibility to fulfil many of their behavioral and social needs. To effectively improve the welfare of animals under human care, a clear understanding of the impacts of different management practices, genetics, and the environment on their well-being must be established to determine which policies and interventions should be ascribed priority, so that prevention and alleviation efforts are effective.
In Indonesia we have cemani chicken which is close with the magical thing. There are many phenomena and mystical rites to do so in many places which is included the Cemani chicken.
However, the cemani chicken has potential as the local native chicken that can be act as a source of protein to support national demands needs. Ayam Cemani is a rare breed of chicken that is completely black, including its organs, muscles, and bones. This chicken originates in Indonesia, where many locals keep the bird as a treasured pet. As a result of a condition called fibromelanosis, Cemani chickens have 10 times as much melanin as most chicken breeds.
However, there is no information and lack of information related to their welfare and potentially to growth. My proposed project which entitled “The potential of “cemani”
Indonesia black chicken through healthier and express more behavioral indicators of positive welfare and in the perspective of meta-analysis”. This study applies meta-analysis strategies that limit the effects of size and can synthesize results regarding the cemani Indonesia black chicken to provide a quantitative summary of the pooled findings. The fellowship would allow me access to the leading experts in the field and I would have an opportunity to practice my specialty at the most important events. I would welcome a meeting to discuss my application in more detail and hope for your assistance in this matter.
With Warm Regards, Danung Nur Adli.
