Photography
Photography can be avocation or a career. Whether you take pictures for business or pleasure, you will enjoy these classes and hone your photographic techniques and use of technology. Sharpen your skills with the aid of professional photographers in our Photography Certificate Program.
Collect your portfolio during the courses showing a sampling of your work that demonstrate various lighting situations, subjects, film and printing techniques.
Certificate Requirements
Learners are required to complete three (3) core courses in the Photography Certificate Program as well as two (2) additional electives from the Photography section of the Course Catalog. Specific topics may vary from one catalog to another but often includes topics such as wedding photography, studio portraits, digital imaging, and more.
Students must also submit a portfolio showing a sample of their work. Refer to certificate #CERT99E00.

photographY fundamentaLs
Good photography is based in the fundamentals. If you’re a beginner, this course can help you take pictures with confidence. Experienced photographers find that this course reinforces the principles of f-stops, shutter speeds, depth of field control, natural light, flash photography, picture composition, and picture framing.
adVanCed photographY teChniques
If you have taken Photo Fundamentals or have equivalent experience, you are ready for the next step. There are six intensive sessions covering lighting, composition, home portraiture, studio lighting, creative use of filters, special events, wedding pictures, shadowless tabletop, and small products.

Fees and Enrollment
The one-time Certificate Program Fee of
$35.00 is due upon registration. Learner must pay individual course fees or additional fees listed during website registration.

Certificate Requirements
Learners must attend a minimum of 75%
of class sessions for each individual class. Learners will receive Continuing Education Unit certificates after the successful completion of each class. Final certificate will be awarded to learners in good standing only after completion of all classes.
