Summary of Arising Issues from Public, Management and Auditor Response

FFB's transporters are local, but the farm workers are foreigners and their social services and welfare are taken care of. The estate management informs the stakeholders about the contingency plans for pollution control, communicates during the stakeholder meeting, what health risks may arise, what the status of the maintenance of the roads is and how the stakeholders are affected by this. All stakeholders involved/consulted agree that the approval process for any CSR delays due to the Sime Darby protocol for authorizing funds is a lengthy process.

For open burning, Jabor management must always ensure that the surrounding communities are well informed of the company's open burning policy. Regarding potential bauxite mines, management should have a management plan to respond to stakeholders. Excess roads to and from the villages are well communicated and no property restrictions apply.

There are no social problems with the presence of foreign workers on the estate and factory. There are no issues related to discrimination on the basis of race, caste, national origin, religion, disability, gender.
