MUTUAGUNG LESTARI conducted a performance assessment of the ULU BASIR Palm Oil Factory – United Plantations Berhad which consists of one (1) factory and three (3) palm oil estates. Based on an interview with a worker in the fertilization activity, it is known that the dose used in the application of fertilizer was in accordance with the recommendations, for example, in field 12 on the Ulu Basir estate, the dose used is 3.2 kg/tree. The company showed the results of the analysis for oil palm leaves carried out by the UPRD laboratory from June 16 to August 18, 2016 for the Ulu Basir estate and from July 1 to August 2, 2016 for the Lima Blas estate.
Ulu Basir Estate and Lima Blas Estates had soil maps that inform about the type of soil in each estate. Summary of Assessment Report of Supply Chain Requirement
A mill is considered to be identity preserved (IP) if the FFBs used by the mill are sourced from its supply base certified according to the RSPO Principles and Criteria (RSPO P&C). Certification for CPO mills is necessary to verify the volumes and sources of certified FFB entering the mill, the implementation of any processing controls (for example, if physical separation is used) and the volume of sales of RSPO certified products. A mill may receive FFB distribution from non-certified growers in addition to those from its own certified land base.
Visits and interviews with mill workers found that the mill complies with the IP module as the FFB used by the mill is sourced from its own supply base which is also RSPO certified. During the weigh station visit, the "Avery - Cardinal System" was accessed to verify the quantities and sources of certified FFB entering the mill during the period from August 2016 – March 2017 and no negative results were found. The estimated tonnage of CPO and PK products that can potentially be produced by the certified mill must be recorded by the CB in the public summary of the P&C certification report.
This number represents the total amount of certified palm oil product (CPO and PK) that the certified mill must deliver in a year. At the end of each month, the Palm Trace notification is made by the Marketing & Shipping Department of Unitata Berhad and the responsible person is K. The company has followed the RSPO requirement regarding the New Planting Procedure and the Repair and Compensation Procedure. However, the identification result is not considered sufficient by the company as there is no information on the hectare of HCV surface and the location of the identified HCV. Therefore, the company re-identifies the HCV area and defines the HCV area based on the 2006 HCV identification.
