Information for International Students
Assignments are made based on the date of receipt of the application and the $15 application fee. Graduate townhouses and Warthin Apartments provide an additional 1120 one and two bedroom residential units on campus.
Nondiscrimination policy
Requests from students for specific roommates will be honored whenever possible if applications are received at approximately the same time and if both applicants make written requests on the application form to live together. An IUPUI student shall submit a Change of Record form which may be obtained from the office of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs of the School of Science or the student's current school. There must be at least two courses in one discipline in either iliA or IlIB. Social and Behavioral Sciences Two courses outside the main department of a total of 6 credits are required.
Graduate Programs
Main Department Consult the list of the main department for courses required within the major, as well as other courses required by the main department in other areas. The committee must certify to the Graduate School either that the student has passed the required examinations of the department in which the major degree study was taken or that the committee is satisfied with the performance of the student as based on a committee conference.

Application as a temporary graduate student is, however, required and may be made through the IUPUI Office of Graduate Programs in the Education/Social Work Building, Room 4106. A maximum of 9 hours of courses completed as an undergraduate may be used toward completion. provisional degree requirements upon admission as a degree-seeking student and upon approval of the department.

Oral and Written Examinations - The Graduate School has no general requirements for oral and written examinations for the master's degree. In any case, a final examination committee is appointed for each master's candidate.

To receive an honors degree in all departments in the School of Science except geology and psychology, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 and a minimum of 24 credit hours, with a 3.5 GPA in honors work. Graduate Programs in Biology
A comprehensive written examination in the individual's primary area will be required of all non-thesis students to be taken at or near the end of the student's degree program. The requirements for admission to the preveterinary curriculum are the same as those for other programs in the School of Agriculture.

Only available to students in high academic standing with the permission of the department supervisor at the beginning of the junior year. This degree carries certification by the Committee on Professional Education of the American Chemical Society.
Bachelor of Science-Chemistry Major
If a student has earned credit for the sequence MATH 221-222, the student will be placed in MATH 164. If a student has earned credit only for MATH 221, the student must take the sequence MATH 163-164 and no credit will be allowed for MATH 22 l.
Master of Science
For example, if a student earned credit for MATH 163-164, the student will not receive credit for MATH 221-222, even if earned earlier. In all cases described above, the student will receive the total number of credit hours for the permitted courses.
Admission Requirements
In general, credit will be allowed for the higher level course, but not for the lower level course. If a student has a minimum grade of B (B- or lower unacceptable) in C360 and approval of the department chair, credit will be granted for C361 and the student can proceed to C362.
Application for Admission
Incoming students with a grade point average of 3.00 or higher (A=4.00) will automatically be recommended for admission as regular graduate students. Those with an average below 3.00 will be admitted as temporary graduate students with the stipulation that a 3.00 average must be achieved in the first three graduate courses (or 9 credit hours) if they are to be admitted as regular graduate students.

The Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Science offers a Bachelor of Science degree and qualified science students may be authorized to continue. Each student must take at least one 500-level computer and information science course (CSCI 512 is not acceptable).

The graduate program in the Department of Geology leads to a Master of Science degree with a concentration in environmental geology. The prospective student in the master's program must have an undergraduate degree in geology, including summer field camp.
Course Requirements
Up to 6 hours of 400-level (senior) geology courses approved for graduate credit may count toward the major field requirement. Qualified candidates for the master's program can be employed as part-time lecturers on introductory courses.

Admissions Information
A student who does not meet the above standards but shows potential for graduate study may be recommended for conditional admission. Prospective applicants who have not received a master's degree are encouraged to apply to the master's program in rehabilitation psychology at IUPUI and may later apply to the Ph.D.
Research Facilities
Bachelor's degree in psychology, mathematics and the physical sciences is highly desirable, but not required. Normally, the department will specify a minimum standard of performance that must be met by the student after conditional admission in order to continue.
