SIMPLE PAST TENSE A.Pola kalimat
(+). S + Verb-2 + O
(-). S + did not + Verb-I + O (?). Did + S + Verb-l + O?
Example :
(+) I met her two days ago.
(-) I did not meet her two days ago.
(?) Did you meet her two days ago?
B.Penggunaan
1. Digunakan untuk menyatakan aktivitas / perbuatan yang terjadi di waktu lampau.
example : I met her two days ago.
C. Keterangan waktu - Yesterday : Kemarin - last ... : yang lalu - Just n/ow : Baru saja - ………ago : Yang lalu
- two days ago : dua hari yang lalu
D. Kalimat Non Verbal atau Nominal sentence : (+) S + was/were + complement.
(-) S + was/were + not + complement. (?) Was/were + S + complement?
Example:
She was here yesterday.
Menggunakan Kata Tanya (Question Word).
1. Untuk menanyakan subject.
Q.W. + verb 2 + O
2. Untuk menanyakan selain subject.
Q.W. +did+ S + verb- 1?
Example:
They gave him an English book yesterday.
a. Who gave him an English book yesterday?
b. What did they give him yesterday?
Catatan:
1. Untuk kalimat negative dan interrogative menggunakan kata kerja bantu ‘did’
untuk semua subject
2. Dalam kalimat negative dan interrogative karena sudah ada ‘did’ maka kembali ke verb-I (infinitive)
3. Verb-II untuk regular verb (kata kerja beraturan) maka akhiran ditambah ‘ed’

4. Untuk Irregular verb (kata kerja tidak beraturan) maka harus di hafal
