Psychosocial interventions are treatments that place more emphasis on psychological, behavioral and social aspects than biological issues (Bourne et al., 2022). Counselling, health education and social support are examples of such interventions (Ciucă et al., 2022). They can help individuals, improve their quality of life and reduce the rate of unsuccessful hospitalization and accommodation (Bourne et al., 2022).

Psychological therapy, according to (Bourne et al., 2022; Ciucă et al., 2022), increased emotional, cognitive and behavioral outcomes. Social media has been linked to depression and suicidal thoughts (Liu et al., 2018; Valkenburg et al., 2021). Digital psychosocial therapies incorporated into a device, such as a mobile phone application, have the potential to improve mental health care for persons with PSD in LMICs, while also easing the burden of psychosis on patients and their families (Pemovska et al., 2021).

The study lacked a control group to determine whether the benefits could be attributed to natural changes over time (Hiscock et al., 2020). According to (Bentley et al., 2020) research, the use of email or SMS methods is observed to be more effective, judging from the aspect of time and cost. The use of this strategy has been criticized for its small sample size, focus on two ethnic groups and caregiver relationships (Czaja et al., 2013).

A lack of evidence for a specific mixed form of the brief cognitive task intervention may also be a factor (Singh et al., 2022).

Online Discussion

Digital psychosocial counseling for the caregiver with dementia and psychological distress at work using video-based technologies has been popular during the COVID-19 pandemic (Singh et al., 2022; Czaja et al., 2013). Once learned, a video-based intervention can be used independently to protect psychological well-being and prevent reduced functioning in the short and long term (Singh et al., 2022). Czaja et al., 2013) found that using video to deliver a multicomponent intervention to multicultural group patients with cognitive dementia is feasible.
