Recount text adalah jenis teks yang menceritakan kembali pengalaman atau kejadian di masa lalu. Tujuan dari recount text adalah untuk memberikan informasi atau menghibur pembaca.

Structure of recount text

Orientation (Orientasi)

Bagian ini adalah pengantar yang memberikan informasi awal tentang siapa, di mana, dan kapan kejadian itu terjadi.

Events (Peristiwa)

Bagian ini menceritakan urutan peristiwa atau kejadian yang dialami secara kronologis. Pada bagian ini, setiap kejadian disusun berdasarkan waktu, mulai dari awal hingga akhir.

Re-orientation (Penutup)

Bagian ini adalah penutup atau kesimpulan dari cerita

language features

1. Past Tense (Bentuk Lampau)

Teks recount selalu menggunakan kata kerja dalam bentuk lampau karena menceritakan kejadian di masa lalu.

Contoh: went, visited, saw, played.

Contoh kalimat: "Last year, we visited Bali."

2. Action Verbs (Kata Kerja Tindakan)

Teks recount menggunakan kata kerja tindakan untuk menggambarkan kegiatan atau peristiwa yang terjadi.

Contoh: played, climbed, traveled, helped.n

Contoh kalimat: "We climbed the mountain and took pictures at the top."

3. Specific Participants (Peserta Spesifik)

Dalam recount text, tokoh-tokoh yang terlibat biasanya disebutkan secara spesifik.

Contoh: I, my family, the students.

Contoh kalimat: "My friends and I went camping."

4. Conjunctions and Time Connectives (Konjungsi dan Penghubung Waktu)

Untuk menunjukkan urutan peristiwa, digunakan kata penghubung waktu seperti first, then, after that, finally, and, so, but, next, finally, before

Contoh: first, next, after, finally.

Contoh kalimat: "First, we went to the beach. Then, we swam in the sea."

5. Adverbials of Time and Place (Keterangan Waktu dan Tempat)

Untuk memperjelas kapan dan di mana peristiwa terjadi, teks recount sering menggunakan keterangan waktu dan tempat.

Contoh: yesterday, last week, in the morning, at the park.

Contoh kalimat: "Last Sunday, we had a picnic at the park."

6. Personal Pronouns (Kata Ganti Orang)

Jika recount bersifat pribadi, sering menggunakan kata ganti orang seperti I, we, my untuk menunjukkan keterlibatan penulis.

Contoh kalimat: "We had so much fun during the trip."

1Last holiday, my family and I went to the beach. 2First, we prepared our bags and brought some snacks. 3Then, we drove to the beach and arrived there in the morning. 4The weather was sunny, and the sea was very calm. 5After that, we played on the sand and swam in the water. 6Finally, we returned home in the evening, feeling happy and tired.

A Fun Picnic

1) Last Saturday, my family and I had a picnic at the park. 2) The weather was sunny and perfect for a day outside. 3) First, we spread out a big blanket under a tree. 4) Then, we ate the food we brought, like sandwiches and fruit. 5) After that, my brother and I played soccer while my parents relaxed. 6) We laughed a lot because my brother kept missing the ball. 7) At the end of the day, we felt happy and tired. 8) It was a fun picnic, and we hope to do it again soon.

Menggunakan kata kerja bentuk lampau untuk menunjukkan bahwa peristiwa terjadi di masa lalu.

Contoh:

had (melakukan)

was (adalah)

spread (menggelar)

ate (makan)

played (bermain)

felt (merasakan) Action Verbs (Kata Kerja Aksi)

Kata kerja yang menggambarkan aktivitas yang dilakukan selama piknik.

Contoh:

Kata atau frasa yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan urutan kejadian.

At the end of the day (Di akhir hari) Adverbs of Time (Keterangan Waktu)

Keterangan yang memberikan informasi tentang kapan peristiwa terjadi.

Contoh:

Last Saturday (Sabtu lalu) Personal Pronouns (Kata Ganti Orang)

Kata ganti yang merujuk pada penulis dan orang lain yang terlibat dalam cerita.

Contoh:

I (saya)

we (kami)

my (saya)
