The title of this thesis is "Effect of using video in teaching English on student achievement during Covid-19 in third grade MAN Pinrang". This research focused on finding out how the use of video in teaching English during Covid-19 and the effect of using video in teaching English on the achievement of students in third grade MAN Pinrang. One of the learning media that can be used during the Covid-19 pandemic is video.
Moreover, MAN Pinrang's third grade English teacher actively used these media during the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the role of the teacher in the teaching and learning process is very important. The type of video used by the teacher in teaching and learning during the Covid-19 pandemic is a powerpoint. Before starting to teach, the teacher must properly prepare the material he has to convey to the students.
Of course, in the search for instructional videos, the teacher should be able to get interesting videos so that the students do not get bored watching the videos that have been provided. Although the teaching is not face-to-face, the teacher should still be able to supervise the students and provide motivation to carry out the learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic, the teacher can ask the students some questions about what is known from material to be studied, this is a way that all students can be active in online learning. After receiving a teaching video that is compatible with the material to be delivered, the teacher will share the link of the video that was received through the WhatsApp group that has been created, then direct the students to watch and understand the video.
Through discussions followed by question and answer sessions via WhatsApp, a group of teachers can determine whether students already understand the material. Then the teacher explains the material in detail, it can be via WhatsApp messages, video or voice memo. When the students understand the material, the teacher will give an assignment as a sign that the students really understand and pay attention to the learning videos that have been given and also the tools that the teacher can use to assess the students.
Achievements can be interpreted as the results achieved due to the presence of the learning activities that have been carried out.17 Learning outcomes are an assessment of the results of learning activities that are expressed in terms of. From the explanation above, the teacher's understanding can be concluded that the teacher is a trained professional who must guide, in order to impart knowledge to the students.
Location and Duration of the Research
The variable of this research is using video in English teaching, which is the independent variable (X), and the student's performance is the dependent variable (Y).
Population and Sample 1. Population
Questionnaire is a data collection technique that is carried out by providing a set of written questions for respondents to answer, which can be given in person or by mail. mail or the Internet. This questionnaire is said to be a data collection method which is effective if the researcher knows with certainty the variables to be measured and knows everything that can be expected from the results, the research respondents.7 The questionnaire used in this study is a closed questionnaire, i.e. a questionnaire that is provided with answers so that respondents simply choose and answer directly.8. Documentation is a way that can be used to collect data or sources of useful information for researchers in the form of notes, important documents that will help researchers.
According to Arikunto, the documentation method can be implemented by (a) Guidelines for documentation that contain the outlines or categories for which you want to look up data. As an audiovisual media with elements of movement and sound, video can be used as a teaching aid in various subjects. Objects that are too small, too big and dangerous or even cannot be visited by students due to their remote location can be presented through instructional video media.
Achievements can be interpreted as the results obtained as a result of the presence of the learning activities that have been done.10 Learning achievement is an assessment of the results of learning activities that are expressed in the form of symbols, numbers, letters and sentences that can reflect the results achieved by each child in a certain period. Technique of Data Analysis

Findings
This section provides information on the results of the data collected through observation, questionnaire and documentation at MAN Pinrang. Then the teacher prepared a video that they search on the Internet related to the material that will be taught that day, one of the "Offering Helps" materials, and then distribute it to the special class group for English subjects made is. After the teacher provides learning materials in the form of videos in the group, the teacher will provide opportunities for students to ask or answer questions after watching the explanatory video shared by the teacher.
Besides conducting a question and answer session, the teacher also allows students to take notes, observe and then write down what they understand while watching videos or in other words taking notes. At the end of the learning process, the teacher gives assignments to students and send them directly to the WhatsApp group.

From the result of observation and explanation above that an alternative way to make the learning process in pandemic happen is the use of video as a learning medium during the Covid-19 pandemic and it was very useful and makes the teacher easier to carry out learning process. The teachers use media in the online learning process √ The teacher asks the students and thinks about the meaning of the lesson. Learning video is a medium for imparting knowledge and functions as part of the learning process.
In this case, students understand the material better, have more extensive knowledge about the material given by the teacher. Then, at the end of the learning process, the teacher will give the students tasks as a form of evaluation of the learning process. In addition to giving the questionnaire, the researcher also observed when the teacher teaches their students in online learning and the researchers can know about the uses of video in teaching English during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Based on the results of the interview, the teacher used video as an alternative medium to deliver material to students' English scores to see if there was a positive effect of using it on student learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. From the result calculation of a simple linear regression test using video in the teaching of English during the Covid-19 pandemic, it is known that the result of the sight. Regarding the results of the research on the effect of the use of video on student performance, it can be concluded that a simple linear regression test with a significance level of 0.279 > 0.05 cannot be used to determine the variable students' performance or to predict. in other words there is no effect between the two variables.
