“Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika” (A Descriptive Study at the Seventh Semester Students of English Department of Makassar Muhammadiyah University). This research analyzed the cases of code-switching in the Indonesian movies entitled Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika and Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika 2. There were two questions to be answered in this research, 1) what types of code-switching students found in the sequel of Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika movies? 2) what reasons did students found out the sequel to the Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika movies?
The researcher chose the seventh semester student in academic year 2019- 2020 as the sample of the study with the total number of sample were 28 students in BG. VII.D by using analysis technique. The method used to conduct this research was qualitative research. The instrument was an observation checklist to help collect data. The researcher conducted several steps to conduct this research, namely selecting movies, making movies transcripts, recording sentences containing code-switching, then students filled out the types of code-switching checklist and filling a checklist of possible reasons for code-switching, then the researcher analyzed the results of the study, and made conclusions.
Based on research of the research, the researcher found 84 code-switching cases in the sequel of Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika movies. The researcher found that the most type code-switching in the sequel of Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika movies were situational code-switching and single-word code-switching, and also researcher found the most reasons for code-switching in the two movies was habitual expressions.

Penelitian ini menganalisa kasus alih-kode di film Indonesia yang berjudul Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika dan Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika 2.
Terdapat dua buah pertanyaan yang akan dijawab di penelitian ini 1) tipe alih- kode apa saja yang terdapat di sekuel film Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika? 2) alasan alih-kode apa saja yang ditemukan mahasiswa di dalam sekuel film Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika?
Peneliti memilih siswa semester ketujuh pada tahun akademik 2019-2020 sebagai sample penelitian dengan jumlah sample 28 siswa di BG.VII.D dengan menggunakan analisis teknik. Metode yang digunakan untuk melakukan penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Instrumennya adalah observation checklist untuk membantu mengumpulkan data. Peneliti melakukan beberapa langkah untuk melakukan penelitian ini, yaitu memilih film, membuat transkrip film, mendata kalimat-kalimat yang menggunakan alih-kode, lalu mahasiswa mengisi checklist jenis alih-kode dan mengisi checklist kemungkinan alasan alih- kode, kemudian peneliti menganalisa hasil penelitian, dan membuat kesimpulan.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan 84 kasus alih-kode di sekuel film Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika. Peneliti menemukan jenis alih- kode terbanyak di sekuel film Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika adalah situational code-switching dan single-word code-switching, dan juga peneliti menemukan alasan yang paling banyak untuk alih-kode di dua film ini tersebut adalah habitual expressions.
