Background

This is an interesting strategy and it can increase the student's reading ability, namely Mix Freeze Group Strategy to improve the students' reading comprehension. In addition, the effectiveness of the Mixed Freeze Group Strategy of Reading Training can improve the students' auditory processing (comprehension) and classroom behavior.

Research Question

This instructional strategy is expected to solve the problems faced by the students and the students to better understand the reading content they will learn. The fact that it happens in that school, the students have not been able to understand reading properly in the second grade of SMPN 25 Makassar.

Significance of the Study

Scope of the Study

This chapter presented previous related studies, a mix-freeze group strategy concept, a concept of reading, a concept of reading comprehension, a conceptual framework, and hypotheses.

Previous Related Studies

Rahmat (2009) in his "Improving Reading Comprehension of the second year Student of Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar through Mix Freeze Group Strategy". In this research, the researcher wants to introduce more about mix freeze group strategy that can help students to improve reading comprehension ability.

The some Concept of Mix Freeze Group Strategy 1. Concept of Mix Freeze Group Strategy

  • The History Of Mix Freeze Group Strategy
  • Characteristic Of Mix Freeze Group Strategy
  • The Principle Of Mix freeze group Strategy
  • The Structural Approach to Mix Freeze Group Strategy a. Grouping of Students
  • Effective Small Group Teaching
  • The Goals Of Small Group Teaching

Mix Freeze Group Strategy is a class building and content mastery strategy developed, this strategy can be used in many skills not only reading but also listening and speaking. This strategy describes and briefly discusses Spencer Kagan's approach to cooperative learning Mix Freeze Group.

Reading Process

There are three models of the reading process, namely: (1) the bottom-up model, (2) the top-down model, and (3) the interactive model. But in this research, the researcher will not explain more about it, except that the interactive process of model reading is correlated with this research.

The Purposes of reading

This reading process can be done in groups, and readers will read the whole text thinking and express their ideas with themselves or their group. For reading this, as sighting and reading would occur to some in the case of effective reading, such involuntary reading is not an important goal in the foreign language learner's mind. Second questions, the reader wouldn't read all of these, but I'm looking for a specific train time.

If a person were to use the machine for the first time, they would probably read everything carefully and slowly, perhaps checking from time to time (intensive reading). Rosma A further description of this active prose is found in the report of the National Committee on Reading, which states that "the reader reads a text to understand what is read, to build memory representations of what is understood, and to apply that understanding" ( NICHD, p .4-39). To find specific information (as in finding due date on the ability to find details of chargers on a doctor's statement or checking TV listings.

But if we don't find the information like that, or if we don't understand what we get, we read more carefully.

Requirement of reading Text

The Purpose of Reading According to Grellet there are two main reasons for reading, that is.

The some Concept of Reading Comprehension a. Concept of Reading Comprehension

Literal reading refers to the acquisition of meaning of ideas or information expressly stated in the text. According to Marshall in Adolfus Nomor Creative reading involves going beyond the material the author has at hand. Creative reading requires readers to think as they read, as critical reading also required the reader to use their imagination, in creative solutions to the author's ideas, thus applying ideas from the text to new situations and combining the author's ideas with others . ideas for from new concepts or expand old ones.

Creative reading also means using one's own experience and knowledge of the word to critically examine the ideas present in the text. By thinking about the author's ideas in a new context, you can find your own ways to develop your own contribution to the public debate you are reading (Marshall, in Adolfus nomor 2014: 24).

Research Instrument

All students listen to the researcher's explanation, after which they form a group to discuss the material in the test that was given by research. The research brings them into a mixed freezer group and then the research divides the subjects into several groups. The students test their group, do some discussion, answer the question and the result in front of the class.

After the treatment, the researcher will give the post-test the same as the pre-test.

Technique of Data Analysis

To find out the significant between the Pre-test and Post-test by calculating the value of the t-test. ΣD² : The sum of total score of difference D : The square of the sum score of different N : The total number of students. These are presentations of the result found in field and discussion which explain and interpret the finding in the second section.

Contains the explanation of the problem students face when using Mix Freeze Group Strategy to change student reading comprehension as an outcome observation. After the student presented the performance of class VIII.9 in a table, the writer analyzed the data by comparing the change the students made.

Findings

Based on the results of the pretest, which can be seen in Table 1, the total number of students was 30, and the total score of the pretest was 1.695. The data show that students' creative reading improvement, especially achievement, increased significantly with the mixed frozen group. Source: SMPN 25 Makassar Based on the table above, it shows that the progress of the eighth grade students made by the writer is successful because the result of the average score of the students in the pre-test is 56.5 and the post-test is 78 .5.

The average score for the students' post-test is higher than the average score for the pre-test. So the result of the mean score indicated that the students' reading test developed by using multiple choice of the narrative text. Source: SMPN 25 Makassar The table above showed that none of the students' category got excellent.

The author concluded that the students' percentage in the post-test was higher than in the pre-test.

Discussion

It was proved by the mean score, where the mean score of the Pre-Test was 56.5 and the Post-Test was 78.5. The average score of the students achieved a high achievement in learning to read by the Mix Freeze group. The t-test value of the students reading using the Mix Freeze group, the t-test was 9.90 and the t-table was 2045.

The data shows that the result of the rate percentage of the students' Post-test is higher than Pre-test after treatment. Based on the result of the t-test, the author found that there is a significant difference between the result of Pre-test and Post-test. This means that there are significantly different results from the pre-test and after the teaching and learning process through the use of Mix Freeze Group improves students' creative reading.

The reason why most of the students are interested in studying reading comprehension by using Mix Freeze Group because (1) They were easy to understand the material, (2) They felt that using mix freeze group can improve their reading ability and their knowledge , (3 ) They also said.

Conclusion

The first part deals with the conclusion of the findings and the second deals with suggestions.

Suggestion

Furthermore, for next researcher they used Mix Freeze group strategy to conduct research because it can give enough opportunity to the students to practice their reading comprehension. They sometimes need hotels when they arrive in cities late at night and they have no family there. People can find the advertisements of the hotels in newspapers, brochures, the internet and magazines. First, business travelers want to stay close to the offices or industrial plants they plan to visit.

White whale mothers breastfeed e.g. their calves for about twenty months until they give birth again and their young can find their own food. But not all animal parents, even those that tend to be hatched or born, feed their young most egg-protecting fish do not, for the simple reason that their young are so much smaller than the parents and eat food is also very sells that the food is eaten by adults. Few insects feed their young on caterpillars and spiders, which they have paralyzed with their poison and kept in a state of suspended animation, so that their larvae may have fresh food when they hatch.

Young reared by their parents become nutritionally independent for a much greater proportion of their full adult size, while the young are protected from fluctuations in hard-to-reach supplies.

INSTRUMEN MENELITIAN

Hotels are places that provide accommodation and usually meals and various personal services to the public. The behavior of feeding the young is built into the reproductive system, it is a non-selective part of parental care and the defining characteristics of mammals - common to marsupials, platy puses, spiny anteaters or placental mammals. What can be deduced from the passage about the practice of animals that parents feed their young.
