Judul Skripsi: Improving Students' Ability to Write Descriptive Text through Show Not Tell (SNT) Technique (Classroom Action Research in Second Grade SMU Muhammadiyah 09 perumnas Makassar). The research aimed to improve the ability of second grade students of SMU Muhammadiyah 09 Perumnas Makassar to write descriptive text through Show Not Tell (SNT) technique where the subject number was 25 students. Research findings showed that Show Not Tell (SNT) helped students improve their ability to write descriptive text.
The average score of students in cycle II increased by about 23.19% from the average result of cycle I, where in cycle I the mean result was 5.82 and became 7.17 in cycle II. Based on the research findings mentioned above, the researcher then concluded that students' ability to write descriptive text after implementing the Show Not Tell technique (SNT) in each meeting improves. The improvement can be seen from the average score of cycle I which is higher than the average score of cycle II.
To her beloved family, her parents La Maa and Jaenab for their love, sacrifices, advice and prayers during her studies. She also gave special thanks to her best friends in N class, who could not be singled out for their connection, kindness, help and understanding of each other.

The following table shows the percentage of student participation in the teaching and learning process in cycle I and cycle II. Table 7 above shows the observation result of the students' participation during the learning process. The second variable which was used to increase the improvement of the students' abilities was mechanics.
In the previous section, when finding, the percentage of students' progress was clearly shown in the table and graph. The Show Not Tell (SNT) technique helps improve students' ability to write descriptive text, viewed through the organization of the text.

Descriptive text
A descriptive text has a clear dominant expression, the dominant impression guides the author's selection of details and is made clear to the reader in the thesis sentence. A descriptive text can be objective or subjective, giving the author a wide choice of tone, wording, and attitude. Descriptive text has several elements, as Lila Fink, Phyllis Levy and Gwen brewer (1983) said that there are several elements of descriptive text, they are;.
Some ways to organize descriptive text include: chronological (time), spatial (location), and order of importance. Kane explains in general that descriptive text is about sensory experience of how something looks, sounds and tastes. But in specific definition explains that descriptive text is a text that tells what a person or a thing is like.
Based on these explanations, it can be concluded that descriptive text appeals to the senses, so that it tells how something looks, feels, smells, tastes and/or sounds. A good descriptive text is like a word picture; the reader can picture the object, place, or person in his or her mind.

Based on the table, it can be analyzed that in cycle I, the percentage of students' participation in each meeting increased. The Show Not Tell (SNT) technique helps improve students' ability to write descriptive text that is viewed by the technician.
FINDING AND DISCUSSION
Discussion
The discussion aims to describe the improvement of students' writing ability after the Show Not Tell (SNT) technique is implemented during the writing lesson. During the teaching and learning process, the researcher finds that the students had difficulty organizing the text. After the students finished their writings, they were suggested to collect their writings for correction.
After taking the test, the average score of the students in terms of organization was increasing; it was compared with the average diagnostic test score. The table shows that the percentage of students' progress in writing was about 23.19%, where in cycle I the average grade of students was 5.82, while in cycle II the increase was 7.17. The progress of students' ability to write descriptive text was the effect of applying the SNT technique as a teaching method.
In cycle I and cycle II, the research carried out four meetings where in each meeting, students were asked to write through the SNT technique. First, the researcher gave some topics and then asked the students to choose one of the topics they want to describe in the descriptor. Where, before students start developing their writing, they are asked to write advice sentences and then change it into descriptive text.
The students' activity during the teaching and learning process was clearly shown in the previous section in finding. Based on the table or graph, the students' activity in cycle I increases normally, while in each meeting their activity rate increased. Where the students' result in the field of organization is about 22.50%. This can be proven by improving their score from 5.82 in cycle I to 7.13 in cycle II.
A teacher can use the SNT technique to encourage students' motivation in writing lessons, as this method can create fun and challenging writing. To create a good atmosphere in the writing class, the teacher can invite the students to write outdoors. Its purpose is to ignore that students feel bored because they have to write in the same situation and condition in every meeting.
