The result of the study was that the average score for reading narrative text in terms of identifying characteristics obtained by the students through the pre-test was 76, and the post-test was 87. The scope of the research boundary is to know the effect of using edmodo Application on students' reading comprehension.

INTRODUCTION

Background

This pandemic has an impact on the economy, society, education and culture (Viner et al., 2020). In education, students and teachers are forced to learn from home in the form of online learning through many online educational technologies (Putra et al., 2020).

Based on the above research, the writer composed a research according to the formula titled "Effect of using edmodo application on students' reading comprehension." This research differed from the previous research above because the use of edmod in increasing students' reading comprehension focused on the main features, theme, and moral of the legend. Moderation: If you want to join a class or group, it's access group status, then Invite Only and also Allow Requests or Open. The results were obtained from the pretest and posttest data in the edmodo application.

Students are given a video link on Youtube about narrative text related to the legend "the legend of the kesodo feast". Students find information in the narrative text related to the legend "the legend of the kesodo feast". Students are presented with narrative text related to the legend "the legend of kesodo fest", which is holes.

It was not surprising if reading is one of the important skills in learning foreign languages. Students' reading comprehension of narrative text in terms of identifying characteristics using edmodo was different in pre-test and post-test. FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

This study aims to determine the effect of edmodo as Internet-based learning in improving the reading comprehension of students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, majoring in English. In the pre-test, the students' reading comprehension of the narrative text was less understandable for the characteristics, but after applying the use of edmodo, the students more understandable for identifying the characteristics of the narrative text, it can be clearly seen in the table 4.3. In the pre-test, the students' reading comprehension of the narrative text was less understandable for the topic, but after applying the use of edmodo, the students more understandable for identifying the topic of the narrative text, it can be clearly seen in the table 4.6.

The average score of the students in the pre-test was 75, and in the post-test 86. In the pre-test, the students' reading comprehension of the narrative text was less comprehensible regarding the moral message, but after using edmod, the students were more comprehensible. on recognizing the moral message of the narrative text can be clearly seen from table 4.9. The average score of the students in the pre-test was 74, and in the post-test it was 86.

Students' reading ability of narrative texts before using Edmodo (pre-test) yielded statistical data in each category, namely 0.151 for features, 0.154 for themes, and 0.125 for moral messages.

Discussion Of Research

Malin Kundang and his mother had to live hard because his father had passed away when he was a baby. The news ran fast in the city; "Malin Kundang has become rich and now he is here". An old woman who was Malin Kundang's mother ran to the beach to meet the new rich merchant.

How did the local people react when they saw Malin Kundang land on the shore. What did Malin Kundang's mother do when she heard that Malin Kundang had landed on the shore. Students are given a video link on Youtube about narrative text related to the legend "Malin Kundang".

Students are presented with a narrative text related to the legend of "Malin Kundang", which has gaps.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

Edmodo is a learning platform that enables teachers and students to learn interactively online. The edmodo application has an attractive and attractive appearance as it resembles social media, which provides convenience for managing online learning and various teaching materials. In addition, this application allows any parent to access and participate in student mentoring and counseling, even from distant locations.

In other words, the function of edmodo is to facilitate teachers and students to learn interactively online. The analysis of the data obtained through (t-test) between the mean pre-test and post-test scores has a significant difference that we know by applying this edmodo application.
