AN ANALYSIS OF SLANG WORDS FORMATION USED BY INDONESIAN YOUTUBER QORYGORE

ABSTRACT
This study attempts to investigate slang word and slang word formation process used by Qorygore, an Indoensian YouTuber. This research applies descriptive qualitative research design. The study identify slang word in four chosen videos, namely Menuju Indonesia Suram #WHY, eboys kuproy pyramid # bacotsantuy, and sapa selebgram fav lo? Ometv, and Orang-Orang Indonesia BODOH! Why Gitu Loh?
#kidsJamanNow To investigate slang words used by Qorygore, this study use the theory 5 types of slang word based on Allan and Burridge (2006) as guideline.
Furthermore, to analyze word formation process of slang words used by an Indonesian YouTuber, Qorygore, this research used the synthesized theories 18 types of word formation processes based on Yule (2010), Mattielo (2008), and O’Grady, Aronoff, & Dobrovolsky (1997). This study found 82 slang words used by an Indonesian YouTuber, Qorygore that were saturated the five types of slang words, such as fresh and creative (14.6%), flippant 9 (10.9%), imitative (59.7%), acronym (7.3%), and clipping (7.3%). In terms of word formation process, the 82 slang words undergone 10 word formation processes, such as coinage (9.7%), borrowing (9.7%), reduplicative (1.2%), derivation (1.2%), multiple process (9.7%), reversed form (1.2%), variation (10.9%), blending (24.3%), clipping (10.9%), conversation (4.8%), acronym (8.5%), prefix and suffix (2.4%), and onomatopoeia (2.4%).

Penelitian ini mengaplikasikan desain descriptive qualitative research. Why Gitu Loh? #kidsJamanNow. untuk menanalsis slang word yang digunakan Qorygore, penelitian ini mengaplikasikan teori 5 types of slang word dari Allan and Burridge (2006). Kemudian, untuk menganalsis bentuk kata slang word, penelitian ini mengaplikasikan gabungan teori dari Yule (2010), Mattielo (2008), dan O’Grady, Aronoff, & Dobrovolsky (1997).
Penelitian ini menemukan 82 slang word yang digunakan oleh Indonesian YouTuber, Qorygore. Semua slang word yang didapatkan di kategorikan kedalam five types of slang words, seperti fresh and creative (14.6%), flippant 9 (10.9%), imitative (59.7%), acronym (7.3%), dan clipping (7.3%).
