This unique female is of particular interest for the two reasons mentioned by this author in his 1939 paper. southern record for the genus, and it is one of three species in which the 2 submarginal cells of the forewing are not petioled. Considering it is an average large species measuring 23mm. at length it is strange no other collector has taken. The head is less broad than the thorax; background color black except for an alarmed dark ferruginous area on the yellow which covers the face exclusive of the black vitta through the scrobes of the antenna; clypeal margin with three denticles, the medial one.
