Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah penggunaan aplikasi Padlet dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. In writing class, students often felt bored to learn writing subject, it could be because of the way of teaching or the subject itself. Educators, in this case teacher, must find an attractive way to get their interest in learning writing subject.

Lestari at Universitas PGRI Madiun, the result of this research is proved by Padlet application can improve students' writing ability. This purpose of this research is compared between modern method which used Padlet application and traditional method in teaching learning.

Some Pertinent Ideas 1.Theory of Writing

Definition of Writing

ForSapkota (2013:70) also suggests that writing is an extremely complex cognitive activity in which the writer is required to demonstrate control of variables simultaneously. Bowker in Farid (2007) says that writing is a skill that is required in many contexts throughout life.

Component of Writing

A sentence with correct grammar and tense will help the reader understand the meaning of the sentence. A sentence with incorrect capitalization, punctuation, or spelling may cause the sentence to be misinterpreted.

Characteristic of a Good Writing

Nowadays, technology has greatly helped human affairs, especially in the field of education. This is because students are sometimes bored by using conventional methods in the learning process, so educators need more ways to make students interested in the learning process in the classroom.

Based on the three main functions above, the implementation of technology in the learning process is very important for social media appearances. Some existing definitions are relatively simple, focusing on the nature of message construction in social media.

This helps the teacher understand the level of understanding of each student in the class and guide them accordingly. All other learning materials, such as notes and images, can be shared by teacher or student in the same Padlet. Padlet provides virtual or online communication facilities making it easier for students to continue learning without being tied to the time they spend teaching and learning in the classroom.

They were because these applications were easily downloadable and they used such gadgets for learning purposes such as reviewing materials that the learning contained in Padlet. The importance of the study for the teachers is to give the teachers opportunities to diversify web-based teaching methods in the process delivery of teaching and learning. This application is also mobile, which allows students to use any device in the classroom, if they cannot bring laptops or at school there is no computer, students can use their smartphone.

RESEARCH METHOD

Population and Sample

A samples a subset of the target population that the researcher intends to study to make generalizations about the target population. In an ideal situation, you have selected a sample of individuals who are representative of the entire population. The population of the research was the first semester of the second class of MAN 1 Makassar students in the academic year 2018/2019.

Purposive sampling was used if the sample objective set by the researcher was based on certain characteristics. Purposive sampling was used if the target sample in the study had certain characteristics, so that a sample that did not meet the specified characteristics could not be taken. The sample of this research was class 11 MIPA 2 because in this class less writing skills.

Research Variables and Indicator

Researchers typically examine multiple dependent variables in a single study (eg, you hit another car, the other car hit the car in front of it, etc.), although in many studies one of the dependent variables is typically of central importance. The dependent variable was student writing skill, especially problem in content and organization in writing. After the students are trained to write invitation letter using Padlet application, the students have a good quality on content and organization in their writing.

Research Instrument

The following table was the analytical scoring rubric used by the researcher to analyze the students' writing. Development of ideas that are not complete or an essay are somewhat of an office topic; The paragraphs are not spaced exactly right. Ideas completed; the essay does not reflect careful thought or is hastily written; n sufficient effort n substantive area.

Technique of Data Analysis 1.Writing Test

The significance difference (t-test) between the students' Pre- and Post-test, the researcher applied IBM Statistic SPSS 22 Software. After the students' significance scores (its value) were obtained, they were compared with the value of t-table. When it found that the value of t-test was equal or greater than the value of t-table, it means that null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (Hi) was accepted because there is difference of significance between pre-test and post-test and then learned using Padlet application.

This chapter answers the problem statement from the previous chapter and consists of findings and discussion. The findings showed a description of the result of the data collected through the writing test in the pre- and post-test, which are described in graphic, graph or tabular form.

  • The Improvement of Students’ Writing Ability Using Padlet Application

The average score of the students' written invitation letter using the Padlet application in terms of content. The students' content skills in writing an invitation letter using the Padlet application were different at the pre-test and the post-test. Based on Table 4.3 above, it can be seen that the average score of students' organizational skills improved in the post-test after they learned how to write an invitation letter using the Padlet application.

Discussion

The improvement of students' writing skills in content conditions can be seen between Pre-test and Post-test. Therefore, it can be concluded that Padlet application can improve the students' writing skill in terms of content. This means that using Padlet Application is effective in improving the students' writing skills.

Therefore, we can conclude that the Padlet application could improve the student's writing skill in organization. It is concluded that the Padlet application could improve students' writing skills in terms of content and organization. It can be shown from the student's written test in the pre-test and post-test.

Metode : Padlet Application

Guru menuliskan tiga pertanyaan tentang susunan kata dan tujuan undangan resmi, yang harus dijawab oleh siswa melalui dinding aplikasi Padlet yang disediakan oleh guru. Guru dan siswa mendiskusikan maksud teks dan tujuan pembuatan undangan resmi berdasarkan topik yang diberikan guru pada saat tes awal. Siswa mampu menyusun teks undangan tertulis formal dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan yang benar dan sesuai konteks.

Guru menuliskan tiga pertanyaan terkait susunan teks undangan resmi yang harus dijawab siswa melalui dinding aplikasi Padlet yang disediakan guru. Guru dan masing-masing kelompok mendiskusikan cara membuat teks undangan resmi berdasarkan topik yang diberikan guru pada saat tes Asosiasi awal. Siswa mampu menulis ulang teks undangan resmi dengan benar berdasarkan kesalahan yang telah diperbaiki.

Metode : Padlet Application

Saya rasa saya tidak bisa - saya harus melakukan hal lain (*raincheck: memberi tahu seseorang bahwa Anda tidak dapat menerima undangan saat ini, tetapi ingin melakukannya di lain waktu). Masing-masing kelompok bertanya kepada guru bagaimana cara menulis ulang teks undangan resmi berdasarkan kesalahan yang telah diperbaiki sebelumnya. Guru menuliskan tiga pertanyaan tentang kesalahan teks undangan resmi dan cara penulisan ulang yang harus dijawab oleh setiap kelompok melalui dinding aplikasi Padlet yang disediakan guru.

Guru mengumpulkan ide kelompok berdasarkan jawaban yang mereka tulis di dinding Padlet. Guru bersama masing-masing kelompok mendiskusikan kesalahan-kesalahan teks undangan resmi dan cara menulis ulang teks undangan resmi berdasarkan topik yang diberikan guru pada saat tes awal. 3 Pilihan kosakata Pilihan kosakata sangat tepat Pilihan kosakata tepat Pilihan kosakata cukup tepat Pilihan kosakata tidak tepat.
