Ads can be one of the most fun ways to practice and develop listening skills. Most ads on YouTube are in English, and ads in other languages are available with English subtitles. According to prior observation by the interviewed SMPN 3 Bontomarannu teacher, the students' listening performance is still low and needs to be improved.
Many students cannot understand the words and the meaning of the text they are listening to. The result of the research can become a reference and contribute with informative input to solve the similar problem.

The American Marketing Association also defines advertising as “the placement of notices and persuasive messages in time or space, in any mass media, purchased by business enterprises, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and individuals seeking to inform and/or persuade members of a specific target market or audience about their products, services, organizations or ideas. International English is the concept of the English language as a global means of communication in many dialects and also the movement towards an international standard for the language. The goal of learning English is for students to become competent communicators and users of this language.
The first reason is English is now the language of the world and in this era most countries use English as a second language. Listening is the nature of the communication process that must be mastered when learning English.
METHOD OF RESEARCH
Research Design
In the first meeting, the researcher explained material about advertising in terms of definition of advertising, types of advertisements, the purpose of advertising, etc. In the second meeting, the researcher showed the example of online advertising and asked the students to mention platform they know they use in online advertising. In the third meeting, the researcher plays the audio and asks the students to listen carefully, after which the researcher challenges the students to name the word that they hear from the audio.
In the fourth to sixth meeting, the researcher gave the students a listening task that contained an incomplete scenario with educational themes used in Internet advertisements and explained how to answer the test. The first listening, the students just listened to the audio without taking notes, the second and third listening, the students started taking notes based on their understanding or what they heard from the audio, and the third was the opportunity to adjust their answer. After all the students finished filling in the blank in the scenario based on what they had heard, the researcher told the students the correct answer.
After the treatment, the researcher gave the students a listening test to determine the effectiveness of the advertisements used to increase the students.

A pre-test was conducted to find out the data on the listening comprehension level of the students before the treatment. The result of the test showed that the listening skills of the students had increased before the treatment.
Based on the pretest data above, as clearly stated, the mean of the total pretest score in eight A was 45.00, the minimum score of the students was 20, maximum score of the students was 80 and standard deviation was 22.414. Post-test was conducted to find out the data of the students' increase in listening skill using advertisements after the treatment was given. Based on the post-test data above, as clearly presented, the mean of the total pre-test score in eight A was 84.09, the minimum score of the students was 50, the maximum score of the students was 100 and standard deviation was 17.904.
Based on the result of the data analysis, it was proved that the students' increase in listening skills by using advertisement improved. It could be seen in Table 4.1 that the students' listening skills in the pretest average score was 45.00 and that it categorizes poor. The score describes that the students' listening comprehension in the pretest was low, where the students could answer all tests, but not all students' answers correctly.
This means that students' listening comprehension in terms of answer accuracy increased after being exposed to treatment using advertising. There was an improvement in students' listening skill in terms of accuracy of answers from pre-test with the mean score was 45 to post-test with the mean score was 84.09 and the increase of pre-test and post-test was 86, 67%. It can be seen that the students' percentage responses from the questionnaire show that 38.9% very high interest and 52.8% high interest, and 8.3% moderate and the average score is 81.05.
After analyzing the students' scores using SPSS 21, both pre-test and post-test were significantly different. The teacher hopes to be more creative in teaching English, and the teacher can use technology or media to stimulate students' interest in learning English.
Besides that, English teachers in SMP Negeri 3 Bontomarannu are suggested to keep motivating their students to increase the students.

It could be seen from the comparison between the pre-test and the post-test of the experimental class. Regarding the accuracy of the response in the pretest, the students did not know how to choose the correct word in the test because the students were still confused by the sound of the words spoken by the speakers and also because the students lacked vocabulary. that in relation to the topic were given and did not understand the meaning about the speakers say. Students can understand what the speakers are saying and choose the correct word in the spoken text to fill in the gap.
In this case, the students were not only able to distinguish the sound, but the students also gained more vocabulary. They discovered that television commercials are useful for language learning because of their inherent properties, i.e. the short duration of the commercials (30-50 seconds). This research indicated that alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted and null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected because the student's test (t₀) is higher than t-table (tt). ii) The advertisement is effective in increasing the interest in the speaking ability of second year students at SMAN 5 Makassar.
After analyzing the results of the tests, such as pre-test and post-test, the researcher found that the student's listening comprehension result based on the test showed that the post-test score was significantly higher than before the test. It is clear that the mean score in the pre-test was 45, while the mean score in the post-test was 84.09. It can therefore be concluded that there is a significant difference between the score obtained on the pre-test and the post-test.
Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the use of advertisements to increase students' listening skill in terms of accuracy of answer at the eight grade of SMP Negeri 3 Bontomarannu. The eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Bontomarannu suggest to do more practice in listening skill to improve their abilities and increase their vocabulary. The correlation between students' listening skill and their speaking skill in the tenth grade of Smk Batik Sakti 1 Kebumen in the academic year of doctoral dissertation, Bahasa Inggris-FKIP).
