Editorial Note

This time, or for the first time, JPP was published a bit late. Not totally late, but only part of it can be published in time. Others followed and published together in this volume.

Delays were mainly caused by the large number of manuscripts that had to be selected. On the one hand, this is encouraging as it is indicating that JPP is increasingly being trusted as a place to publish academic papers by its authors.

However, on the other hand, most of the manuscripts received by the Editors did not reflect what JPP's mission prioritized, namely as policy papers, which were expected to influence public policy-making, especially in Indonesia’s development.

Most of the manuscripts we receive are research papers, specifically final projects graduate students produce. We hope that in the future there will be more papers providing more detailed policy recommendations on problems in various fields encountered especially in Indonesia’s development.

The nine texts included in this volume cover a wide range of topics, most being lengthy, some featuring detailed statistical approaches. Hopefully, the reader can quickly digest the contents of the paper from the abstract that each author presents before studying further the specific papers that the reader is interested in.

JPP management continues to strive to improve the quality and service of the JPP. The challenge currently being faced is the imbalance between a large number of incoming manuscripts and the limited volume of JPP publications. This needs to find a solution. We look forward to suggestions from readers and especially prospective writers for JPP.

Happy reading.
