  • Classroom Action Research
  • Field Note

The research aims to enhance the teaching and learning process, so the researcher uses classroom action research. The collaborator observes the students' activities, in this research the researcher acted as a teacher who implemented the images in the treatment. The first step that would be done in this reflection is to analyze the quantity data, the researcher would evaluate the score for each task.

In this step, the researcher observes the learning process by using the observation method to collect the data in Action Plan II. d) Reflect. In this step, the researcher would compare the pre-test and post-test score. The researcher assesses and reflects on the activity of the students and the performance of the teacher, whether positive or negative, the second cycle is sufficient or necessary for the next step.

When collecting data, the researcher observed the learning process of the students and put it in the data paper. Simply put, a test is a method of measuring someone's ability, knowledge, or performance in a particular domain.36 The test that the researcher would use is pre-test and post-test. After collecting the data from test, observation, interview, documentation, the researcher analyzed the data based on the limitation of the problems and the objectives of the research.

Moreover, to know the result, the researcher would compare the pre-test and the post-test.

Indicator of Success

If from cycle I there are some students who are not successful, then the researcher must complete cycle 2. The result in cycle 1 is for evaluation material and for reflection for the second research. If all students from cycle 2 are successful, the cycle can only be stopped until cycle 2.

Result of The Research

  • Description of the Research
  • Cycle 1
  • Cycle 2 a. Planning

The researcher asked the students to tell about themselves in front of the class. This meeting was started with prayers and greetings, checking the attendance list and asking the condition of the students. In this meeting, the researcher reviewed the task that the students have done in the first meeting, and the teacher asked the students what they understood by descriptive text.

Frequency of students' score at post-test 1 of cycle 1. In the second meeting, the researcher explained the mind mapping technique before instructing the students using full English.

But the results of the students' tests were better than the students' tests before they gave treatment. Based on the students' results in cycle 1, the researcher and the collaboration partner concluded that there are some problems. Then the teacher asked the students to explain what descriptive is and what mind mapping is.
