Join AU for a Night of Rochester Red Wings baseball!
Alfred University invites you to dinner and an evening of baseball with the Rochester Red Wings!
Join us Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at Frontier Field at 6:15 p.m. for dinner and an evening of baseball.
Meet AU alumni, parents, and friends along with our event hosts, University Trustee Greg Connors '92 and Jeni Wetzel Connors '94 at The Hardball Cafe, the open-air party suite at the far end of the first base side of the suite level.
At 7:05 p.m., watch the Rochester Red Wings take on the Indianapolis Indians.
All AU alumni attendees: Register to win several AU prizes!
Location - Frontier Field, One Morrie Silver Way, Rochester, NY Cost - $20 per person (includes dinner and game ticket); children ages 4 to 12 pay $10, and children ages 3 and under attend free. AU students, $15.

Tonight at the Bandstand: The Alfred Village Band!
Tonight is the first Alfred Village Band concert this summer! Bring some chairs, a blanket, and your loved ones for popular music everyone will enjoy! See you tonight at 7:15!

Observatory Open Houses
The Stull Observatory is open to the public this summer on clear Thursday evenings from 10 p.m. to midnight. There is no charge.
At Observatory open houses, student astronomers will demonstrate the use of our of our 5 major telescopes, giving the public a look at objects like the Moon, planets, nebulae, galaxies, and more.
Reservations are requested for groups larger than 10 people.
The Observatory is on the southeast corner of the Alfred University campus.

This library-sponsored matinee movie is free and open to the general public on Friday, July 13.

Allegany County Senior Picnic
The Allegany County Senior Picnic is being held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the fairgrounds in Angelica from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"The picnic is one of our most popular events," explained Kim Toot, Director of the Office for the Aging. "It's lots of fun, and the food is great."
Stearns' chicken barbecue will be served for lunch, along with potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, cookies and ice cream. The Gone Country band will provide the entertainment for dancing and
relaxing.
There will be a T-shirt contest with prizes for the funniest, prettiest, and most original.
The sponsor tent is filled with groups and agencies that have all kinds of information and goodies for picnic participants.
Space is limited and reservations are required. Reservations can be made by calling the Office for the Aging at 866-268-9390 before Monday, July 23. Cost for the picnic is $8 and can be paid at the gate.
Picnic sponsors this year are Absolut of Houghton, AIM, Allegany/Western Steuben Rural Health Network, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cuba Memorial Hospital, Highland Park, Independent Health, Jones Memorial Hospital, Manor Hills, National Grid, Total Senior Care, United Healthcare, Wellsville Manor, and WillCare.
