AU ITS Video Conferencing Guidelines

At Alfred University, video conferencing has become a popular, cost-effective resource for holding meetings and conferences. ITS is pleased to support video conference requests for meetings, guest speakers, and other events.

Because of the large volume of requests, users seeking video conferencing assistance must contact ITS five (5) business days prior to the video conference. This will allow ITS to continue providing high- quality service to the campus community.

A complete list of video conferencing guidelines is available on the Web. Thank you for your support.

2-Credit Independent Study Fall 2012 Cross Generational Art Analysis

This class will bring together elderly community members and college-aged students to discuss modern art history while creating our own conceptual artwork. The class will have an emphasis on cross- generational discussion and what we can learn from people who are not in our direct peer circle.

The purpose of this course is to discover more about one's self through creation and shared experience. Our dialogue will explore differing and similar points of views among the age groups in order to highlight generational changes and constants.

Register as an independent study with Dr. Maiden.

W.I.L.D. is offering an open forum on Wednesday, April 25th from 12:20 - 1:10 p.m. to share our successes from the 2011-12 year, and raise awareness of what we hope to accomplish next year.

W.I.L.D. (Wilderness Immersion, Learning and Discovery) About Alfred is a volunteer committee including students, faculty and staff from all over campus seeking to celebrate AU's wilderness setting.

We produce monthly events including the Horse to Holler Trail Hike, Ski at Swain and the Sugar Shack grand opening. Still to come in spring: the Wellness 5K Walk/Run and WILD On the Water. W.I.L.D.

also works on projects such as permanently blazing the Pine Hill Trails and equestrian center multi- season trails and mapping all of these properties for campus-wide use.

Thank You to the AU Community

On behalf of the Office of Admissions I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the entire Alfred University community. The two Accepted Students Days were a huge success due to the hard work and dedication of so many on campus.

Special thanks to Michelle Pomeroy for coordinating the events, the faculty and staff who represented their various programs and departments, AVI for an outstanding job providing great food and service, members of our physical plant who worked extremely hard to ensure beautiful grounds and space on campus, and members of the our administration for taking the time to meet and mingle with our prospective students.

I'm delighted to report that we had over 350 students attend! Many thanks to all for spending part of your weekends to assist the University in meeting our enrollment targets.

Sincerely, Corry D. Unis
