Achievement of the department
(a) Department of Social Work, Assam University has received recognition of outstanding contribution towards the welfare of Divyangjan with DIVYANG MITRA SANMAN for the year 2021 by SAKSHAM South Assam and Rotary Club of Greater Silchar on 3rd December 2021. (b) Department has organised many webinars and workshops like International Workshop on Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction Strategies for Local Resilience held on 20th and 21st May 2022, and collaborated with other organisations such as National institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development, Assam; Centre for Geoinformatics Applications for Rural Development (CGARD), Guwahati; Swaniti Organisation; PMMVY Cell District Welfare office, Mushalpur, Baska, Assam; (c) NET-2 (d) All 29 students who have passed out have got jobs. (e) students and alumni of Department of Social Work (9 students) have been selected of Medical and Non-Medical faculties of Medical Colleges in the State of Assam under the Health &Family Welfare Dept, Govt. of Assam. ( Notification No. MHRB/17/Faculty/2019/931 dated 23rd June, 2021).
