Dosage
According to the Unani system of medicine, seeds are bitter, expectorant, brain tonic, exhilarant, and cure psychological disorders. The oil
extracted from the seeds is used orally at the dose of 10- 15 drops, twice aday. Water- based paste of the roots is applied locally on the head. It is useful in the treatment of depression.Malkangani oil mixed with butter is made into a lotion that when appl ied to the palate is brain stimulant 7,8,11.
Kishneez
(Coriandrum sativum)Identification
Kishneez or Coriander is a commonly grown, delicately- branched, annual plant. Its top often becomes too heavy and falls over, sprawling along the ground and sending up branches, which gives rise to many new plants. The lower leaves of coriander are lobed. The upper leavesare fine~ dissected into linear segments and are almost fernlike
in appearance. The white or pink flowers are tiny and borne in numerous compound flat-topped clusters in which the flower stems arise from a single point. The flower clusters are only about 2.5-5.1 cm across, but are so abundant that the whole plant appears Quite shmry.
The seeds are contained in spherical yellowish brown pods that are ribbed and rough textured. It is a common plant mostly used for garnishing in Indian cuisine.

Darchini
(Cinnamomum zo/Ianicum)Identification
Oarchini or Cinnamom is a small evergreen tree growing in southern coastal regions of western India. The bark of the tree is the well-knQwn Ceylon Cinnamon. The leaves have a spicy odour when bruised and a hot taste. The flowers have a foettd. disagreeable smell.
The fruit is dark purple in colour and one seeded. It is an ellipsoidal berry. with a characteristic odour when opened. The tree flowers in january and the fruits ripen from May to August. The bark
of tender shoots and stems is smooth and pale. while that of old and aged branches are rough and brown.
Locally it is called Tamalapatra (Sanskrit).

Ustukhuddoos
(Lavandula sloechas)Identification
Ustukhuddoos or French Lavender is an evergreen shrub. It bears narrow, linear. stalkless leaves with rolled margins. The leaves are covered with a fine grey down. usually giving a grey-green overall appearance. The flower spike is composed of closely set fertile bracts. which house the actual flowers, and is topped by a tuft of large, showy, sterile bracts. The fragrance of this species is somewhat between that of a true lavender scent and a pungent rosemary fragrance. According to the Unani system of medicine it is a nervine tonic and helps in eliminating the excessive accumulation of black bile in the blood, which is a cause of the psychosomatic disorders.

Kafoor (Cinnamomum camphora)
Identification
The Kafoor or camphor tree is a dense broad leaved evergreen. The shiny foliage is made up of alternate oval leaves dangling from long petioles. Each leaf has three distinct yellowish veins. The outer margins of the leaves tend to be somewhat wary and turn upward.
