Weather summery of the past five days Weather forecast valid up to 7th September, 2016

Sky was partly cloudy with 80.0mm rainfall. Maximum temperatures ranged between 31-32°C and minimum ranged between 23-24°C. Relative humidity was 94-97% in morning and 61-81% in evening. Wind speed ranged between 4-6kmph.

The possibility of Rainfall is 112.0mm for the next five days.

Maximum Temp: 29-30oC, Minimum Temp: 24-25oC, Cloud cover: sky will be cloudy i.e. 7-8 Okta, Maximum RH: 96-98%, Minimum RH: 70-82%, Wind speed: 5-6Kmph, Wind direction:

Leaf Spot

Rhizome rot (ginger) Stem borer

 To prevent Leaf Spot disease, apply Bordeaux mixture (5:5:50) after 4 – 5weeks of sowing or Captan @ 1.5 g/l of water.

 Spray/ drench 1% Bordeaux mixture or Dithane M-45 (2.5g/l) to prevent rhizome rot.

 Apply malathion 30EC @ 2ml/litre.

Groundnut

(Lower altitude regions)

Flowering to pod formation stage

 Avoid water logging in the field. Remove excess water and maintain proper drainage facilities. Farmers can perform one hand weeding at 30-35DAS (i.e. flower initiation stage) followed by earthing up to promote easy penetration of pegs into soil.

Leaf spot  Warm weather with intermittent rain is congenial for the development of leaf spot in groundnut. Spray carbendazim (0.05%) + mancozeb (0.2%) at 2-3 weeks intervals after the current spell of rain if dark spots are seen on the leaf.

Aphid/ Leaf miner  For control of major insect pests spray phosphamidon 100 EC @ 0.5 ml/ litre of water.

height with 1% Carbaryl 150 WP (20g/l).

 Collect and destroy the trunk borer adults by shaking the branches 2-3 times at 10 days interval.

Animal Sciences

Poultry All stages  As the day temperature has increased keep

the poultry house well ventilated during day time.

 Provide vitamin B complex @ 7ml/litre in drinking water daily in broiler for healthy growth.

 Litter should be changed periodically and provide clean drinking water and changed the water every day.

 Diseased and dead birds should be immediately removed.

 Regularly inspect the dropings of the poultry birds for any diseases symptom.

Coccidiosis  Provide plenty of fresh and clean drinking water.

 Provide coccidiostatic like Amprolium @ 25-65 mg/kg feed once a day as a preventive measure against coccidiosis.

Ranikhet disease  Vaccinate the poultry birds with F1/ Lasota vaccine (1 drop) at the age of 4-7 days old

 Provide vitamin B complex @ 7ml/litre in drinking water daily in broiler for healthy growth.

 Regularly inspect the dropings of the poultry birds for any diseases symptom.

Coccidiosis  Provide plenty of fresh and clean drinking water.

 Provide coccidiostatic like Amprolium @ 25-65 mg/kg feed once a day as a preventive measure against coccidiosis.

Ranikhet disease  Vaccinate the poultry birds with F1/ Lasota vaccine (1 drop) at the age of 4-7 days old and 35 days old through eye and nostril.

dampness during rainy season.

 Repair the roof of pig stay to protect from rain.

 Vaccinate all newly born piglets against swine fever at the age of 3 months followed by annual booster dose.

 In epidemic areas, vaccinate 6 months old pigs with FMD vaccine once in a year.

 Avoid water logging in the field. Remove excess water and maintain proper drainage facilities. Farmers can perform one hand weeding at 30-35DAS (i.e. flower initiation stage) followed by earthing up to promote easy penetration of pegs into soil.

Leaf spot  Warm weather with intermittent rain is congenial for the development of leaf spot in groundnut. Spray carbendazim (0.05%) + mancozeb (0.2%) at 2-3 weeks intervals after the current spell of rain if dark spots are seen on the leaf.

 For control of major insect pests spray phosphamidon 100 EC @ 0.5 ml/ litre of water.
