18) Inspection Officer’s remarks:

1. The proposal of M/s. Volcan Industries, R.S.No:11/1, 111/3, 11/4, 11/7 & 11/8 of Mallavalli(V), Block no:9, Plot No:9/57 of L.P. No:26/2018/VJA, APIIC-Model Industrial Park, Mallavalli(V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District is for establishment of Iron castings manufacturing unit with production capacity of iron castings- 120 Tons/Annum using Iron scrap & addtives -150 Tons/day as raw material with total project cost of Rs.95 lakhs.

2. The industry has applied for Consent for Establishment of the Board on 22.08.2019 through APOCMMS duly paying requisite CFE fee of Rs. 4,750/- under Orange-Haz.

3. The proposed industrial activity involves melting of iron scrap in an electrically operated induction furnace at a temperature of about 1650OC. This molten metal would be lifted in ladles (4 nos.) and poured into cavity of moulds. These moulds would be cooled by water spraying upon moulds. These moulds would be sent for finishing operations.

4. Water consumption would be for cooling makeup – 1 KLD and domestic purposes – 1 KLD. No wastewater would be generated from production activity except small quantity of domestic wastewater, which would be sent into septic tank followed by soak pit.

5. No hazardous waste would be generated from the proposed activity, the industry has not proposed any D.G. Set.

6. The industry generates solid waste in the form of slag from induction furnace section. The details were not submitted by the industry. During inspection, the industry representative claimed that they are not generating any kind of solid waste.

7. No details regarding proposed APCE have been submitted. But, during inspection, the industry representative informed that they are going to provide fume extraction system attached to wet scrubber with appropriate venting arrangement.

8. The industry should develop green belt all around the periphery.

The issue of CFE to the proponent may be considered duly stipulating necessary conditions after obtaining details of APCE.

19) Regional Officer’s remarks

The issue of CFE to M/s. Volcan Industries, R.S.No:11/1, 111/3, 11/4, 11/7 & 11/8 of Mallavalli(V), Block no:9, Plot No:9/57 of L.P. No:26/2018/VJA, APIIC-Model Industrial Park, Mallavalli(V), Bapulapadu (M), Krishna District may be considered duly stipulated necessary conditions.
