1. “Sujalam Suflam Jal Abhiyan Relly” at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand:

Participated in “Sujalam Suflam Jal Abhiyan Relly”, organized by NSS volunteers of different colleges of main campus of Anand Agricultural University, Anand on 30.4.2018.

The aim of the “Relly” was to create awareness among the peoples regarding harvesting and conservation of rain water with simple scientific techniques and judicious use of the water in domestic as well as in agricultural use. Total 30 NSS volunteers of the Sheth M.C.Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand were actively participated with play cards and slogans related to the objective of “Relly”.

2. Cleanliness campaign at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand Day long cleanliness campaign by all the NSS volunteers of the Sheth M.C.Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand was organized on 20.7.2018. The un-wanted grasses and other unwanted waste materials were removed from the approach road, playground and open area surrounding hostel and polytechnic buildings.

3. Tree Plantation Programme at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand Tree plantation programme was organized by NSS volunteers of this polytechnic in backside area of the boys’ hostel on 21^st July, 2018. Different 50 horticultural plants were planted in the area with proper guidance of Dr. M.V.Dabhi, Mr. P.S.Panchal, Smt.

S.J. Savadhariya of this polytechnic.

4. Celebration of “Swaschhta Pakhwada” at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand

“Swachchta Pakhwada-2018” was celebrated during 1.8.2018 to 15.8.2018 by Sheth M.C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, AAU, Anand. Different activities were organized during this period by Dr.H.B.Shakya, NSS Programme officer with the help of all the staff members of this polytechnic as per following schedule.

• One day seminar on “Importance of cleanliness in our daily life” was organized on 1^st August, 2018 at Sheth M.C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand. Pu. Rasikviharidas and Pu. Gopalyogidas, saint of BAPS, Anand and Dr. S.H.Akabari, Director of Student welfare, AAU, Anand were remained present in this seminar as motivational speaker. Pu.

Rasikviharidas has delivered remarkable speech on personal and physical cleanliness, public cleanliness and soul cleanliness. He has also advised not use plastic in daily life, which is the major cause of environment deterioration. Dr. S.H.Akabari has encouraged the NSS volunteers to devote at least half an hour every day to cleanliness movement.

Dr. V. J. Patel, Associate Professor also guided students for the support to this Swachchta events for the benefit of nation.

• “Swachchta Sapath” was organized by all the students and staff members of this polytechnic on 3^rd August, 2018. After this, an intensive cleaning programme was organized to clean surrounding area of college campus, garden, laboratory, classrooms and boys hostel. The NSS volunteers were also removed unwanted weeds from the surrounding area of college, hostel and road sides.

• Cleaning of “Anand Sagar” area plantation site, AAU,Anand, cleaning of pits and removing of unwanted weeds from the sites by all the NSS volunteers of this polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand

• Cleaning programme was organized to clean Hadgud village pick up stand, garden and roads of the Khetiwadi Swaminarayan temple located at Hadgud village on 4^th August, 2018.

5. Awareness programme on Rural Development Government Schemes at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand:

An awareness programme on “Swachchta Sarvekshan Gramin” (SSG 18) was organized at SMC Polytechnic in agriculture, AAU, Anand on 30^th August, 2018 with help of staff members of District Rural Development Agency, District Panchyat, Anand. Mr. Mayurbhai Chauhan was provided the information on awareness regarding SSG 18 through mobile application. The students of this polytechnic in agriculture were register on SSG 18 portal and also give their feedback regarding Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. Mr. Shankarbhai Rathod and Mr. Bhurabhai Rathod were also guided the students with regards to registration and feedback procedure of SSG 18. The students were guided on present status of various schemes like MANREGA, Swaschch Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojna, Mission Mangal Yojna etc. Dr. V. J. Patel, Associate Professor; Dr. H. B. Shakya, Programme officer and Mr.Pratik Panchal, Assistant professor were remained present in the programme.

6. Celebration of Gandhi-150 at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, Anand On the eve of 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, a programme for

“Celebration of Gandhi 150” was organized at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in agriculture, AAU, Anand on date 15.09.2018. Dr. V. J. Patel, Associate Professor; Dr. H. B. Shakya, Assistant professor & NSS programme officer, Dr. M. V. Dabhi, Assistant professor; Smt.

Sejalben Savadhariya and Smt. Jyotiben Vasava, Agril. Officer of this polytechnic were took keen interest in the successful organization of these competitions. The programme was divided in to three different competitions (Drawing, debate & essay writing) among students of this Polytechnic. Total 81 students were participated in the various competition. Twenty one (21) students were actively participated in drawing competition on “Cleanliness & Rural civilization”. Ten students (10) had debate on “What can I do for cleanliness?” and forty seven (47) students have participated for an essay writing which encourage the students to leave the bad habits for them as well as to motivate others to advise.

7. Participated in celebration programme of “Nasabandhi Saptah” at FPT & BE College, AAU, Anand.

Participated in celebration programme of 150^th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji as “Nasabandhi Saptah” organized at Prof. A.C.Pandya Auditorium Hall, College of Food Processing Technology and Bio-energy, AAU, Anand on 2^nd October, 2018. Dr. N.C.Patel, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AAU, Anand, Dr. S.H.Akbari, Director of Student Welfare, AAU, Anand, Shri. H.P.Sisodiya, Prohibition and excise Department, Anand, Jyotsna Didi, Prajapati Brahmakumari Ishavariya Vidhyalay, Anand, Dr. K.P.Patel, Principal and Dean, B.A. college of Agriculture, All Principal and Deans of Colleges of Food Processing and Technology and Bio-energy, Dairy Science, Agricultural Information Technology, AAU,Anand were remained present. Dr N.C.Patel advised students not to be fall in trap of any kind of “Nasa”. Drugs and smoking is very dangerously spreading in youth, which should be rejected everywhere.

An Elocution competition among NSS volunteers was also organized on various Topics related to “Nasabandhi”. More than 20 NSS volunteers of different colleges of this campus were participated in the competition, in which, two NSS volunteers namely Ku. Nidhi Mahemdavadia and Ku. Ritu Parmar of Sheth M.C.Polytechnic in Agriculture,

Anand were took active participation. All the NSS volunteers were remained present in this programme.

8. Thalassemia Test and student counseling at SMC Polytechnic in Agriculture, AAU, Anand:

Programme on Thalassemia awareness and thalassemia test of students was organized by National Service Scheme of Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, AAU, Anand on 25^th October, 2018. Mr. Upendrabhai Bhoi, Indian Redcross Society, Gujarat State Branch, Anand and his team, Dr. V.J. Patel, Associate Professor, Dr. H.B.Shakya, NSS Programme Officer and Dr.M.V.Dabhi, Assistant Professor were remained present. Mr. Upendrabhai had provided useful information on various effects of Thalassemia in future marriage life, social life to the students and he had also educated the students regarding harmful effects on health, family and management aspects of thalassemia major. Video prepared by Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat state branch, Ahmedabad regarding “THALASSEMIA AWARENESS” was also shown to the student before test. Total 37 students of this polytechnic were tested for Thalassemia during this camp

9. Live telecast of National Youth Parliament Festival: February27, 2019.

Programme on Live telecast of National Youth Parliament Festival organized at Vigyan Bhavan during the on Feb, 27, 2019 was arranged at Sheth M.C.Polytechnic in Agriculture, AAU, Anand. Total 90 students and all the staff members of this polytechnic were remained present in this programme.

10. Programme on “Basic first Aid” on 28th March, 2019

One of the most useful health related programme on “Basic first Aid” was organized at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture AAU, Anand on 28^th March, 2019 by Indian Red Cross Society, Gujrat State Branch, Ahmedabad. Dr. V. J. Patel, Principal of this polytechnic gave introverting remarks and usefulness of this programme in day to day life of students especially hostlers. Dr. Upendra S. Bhoi, Zonal Coordinator and Shri Arjun Yadav, Camp Organizer of Indian Red Cross Society explained first aid, steps for first Aid (DRABC) i. e Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing and circulation, how to check symptoms and characters of injured person and rectification of casualty of injured person. They also gave detailed guidance about casualty of bleeding, fracture, burning, poison, internal and external bleeding and what kind of treatments should be given to injured person before admitted to hospital to ensure his survival invited resource person have also conducted theory and practical of CPR (Cardio palmary Recesination) Produce to tie various bands, Belts, techniques to discriminable infection while giving first aid treatment to injured person by using different modules, specimen and video films.

Students of this polytechnic highly benefited. At the end of the programme vote of thanks was made by Mr. P. S. Panchal, Asst. Prof. of this polytechnic.

11. Awareness programme on “Environmental Issues –Threats and solutions” on 30^th March, 2019

An awareness programme on “Environmental issues – treats and solutions” was organized at Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture AAU, Anand on 30^th March, 2019 by Voluntary Nature Conservancy (VNC), Vidyanagar. Dr. Dhaval Patel, Managing Trustee and his team were remained present. Different environmental issues like as pollution, water crisis, bio-diversity, urban sprawl, global warming, marine pollution etc were explained nicely with practical solutions for environmental protection. Dr. V.J.Patel, Principal of this polytechnic also explained the importance of the trees, bird and their conservation to save the environment. Dr. H.B.Shakya, Programme Officer (NSS), anchored the programme effectively and at the end of the programme vote of thanks was made by student Mr. Kavan Patel of this polytechnic.

PART – B: SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

The Special camp of NSS was organized during 14^th March to 20^th March, 2019 (Seven days) at Jitodia Village, taluka and district Anand by Sheth M. C. Polytechnic in Agriculture, AAU, Anand. Total thirty (30) students of this polytechnic were participated in this NSS Special camp. The students were done various activities like village survey programme, Beti Bhachavo, Beti Padhavo Reli, Vyashan Mukti Reli, Swachchata Reli, cleanliness campaign of various public places, roads, temples of the village,plantation programme at Swaminarayan temple, visit of progressive farmer’s farm, interaction with Anganvadi children, Visit of Yuvak mandal office, Jitodia etc. Talk on different topics were also arranged for awareness among the NSS volunteers like as “harnessing and effective use of different renewable sources of energy in agriculture as well as in our domestic life” with Er.Dinesh Rangpara, Scientist, KVK, AAU, Arnej, “Importance of food and nutritional values for healthy life” with Dr. Gayatri Jadeja, Scientist, KVK, AAU, Arnej, “Scientific dairy cattle management” with Dr.Y.G.Patel, Assistant Professor, Livestock Research Station, AAU, Anand and “awareness on environment and sparrows protection” with Dr.Jyoti Dulera, Junior Ornithologist, Ornithology Department, BACA,AAU, Anand. Distribution and installation of sparrow nests to villagers was made by NSS volunteers. The NSS Volunteers were actively participated in each and every programme organized at village level. Dr.Sureshbhai Solanki, Principal Arts College, Bosad has inspired the students for volunteer activities which may increase social service, politeness, kindness and hard work among the students during NSS camp. NSS volunteers gave their feedbacks in detail about every activities organized during camp and make presentations individually on different topics related to NSS activities and objectives on the last day of the camp. This NSS camp have remained successful due to continuous encouragement to the volunteers and good planning of various activities by Dr.

H.B.Shakya, Programme officer (NSS) of this polytechnic.
