SPECIFICATIONS

NOTE: The various items of works shall be carried out in general as per relevant I.S. Specifications and that of the latest edition of P.W.D. Handbook Volume I & II along with the following specifications.

Where these is construction between the following specifications and shall given in matters of inter-pretation etc. The decision of the Engineer/Architect shall be final and binding on the Contractor.

PRELIMINARIES :

1. The contractor is not allowed for execution any work, which in the Engineer/Architect opinion, in likely to cause any annoyance to occupants in the vicinity, at such time the architect may direct.

2. All treasure crove, coins or objects of antiquity which may be found on the site shall be handed over to the employer.

3. The contractor shall delivery daily to the Engineer-in-charge of works report as to the number of operative employed in all trades and deliver notes for all materials delivered to the site.

4. The contractor is to provide, at all times during the progress of the works and the maintenance period proper means of access, with loaders, gangways etc. The necessary attendance to move and adopt as directed for the inspection of measurement of the works by the Architects, Consulting Engineers, Structural Engineers and employer or their authorized representatives.

5. The contractor is to allow for general attendance upon sub-contractors, including the free use of plant and scaffolding (and the provision of any special scaffolding required) and is to allow their operatives the use of latrines, water closets, mess rooms, and sheds covered space for plant, storage of materials etc. and a look up shop for each.

6. The contractor is to act out any level the works and will be responsible for the accuracy of same.

He is to provide all instruments and attendance required by the Architects, Consulting Engineers, Structural Engineers and Employer or their authorized representatives for checking their work.

7. The contractor is to cover up and protect the works from the weather and is to suspend all “SET”

operations during weather which in the Engineer/Architects opinion will be determental to the work.

8. The contractor is to allow for a general foreman to be a constantly on the works through out the period of their execution and for supervision as required under the conditions of the contract.

9. The contractor shall provide, erect and maintain proper sheds and temporary buildings for the storage and protection of materials etc., and for the execution of works, which may be fabricated or brought on the site.

10. The contractor shall provide, erect and maintain proper sheds, mess rooms for the operative with adequate lighting attendance etc.

11. The contractor shall provide and erect in approved positions all necessary sanitary convenience with the rules and regulations of the Municipality/local authority and maintain in a clean and orderly condition etc.

12. The contractor shall provide, erect and maintain on site office for the general fireman with desk drawers etc. and adequate lighting and attendance etc.

GENEARAL SPECIFICATIONS :

1. All damages to floor, walls, roads sides of buildings etc. during the process of fixing water supply, drainage and Sanitary installations shall be restored to the original condition by the contractor of his own cost.

2. All the pipes, fittings and appliances shall be thoroughly cleaned before fixing and particular care shall be taken to see that no materials gets into them during fixing.

3. All the joints shall be of the same diameters of the inside before expect wherever mentioned.

4. All the joints shall be rendered leak proof and tested for the same to ensure efficient functioning of pipes and appliances.

5. All diameters of pipes shall be of the same diameters of the inside before expect wherever mentioned.

6. Entire water supply and sanitary items arrangements shall be subjected to pressure test in accordance to IS Code at the contractors cost prior to commissioning.

7. All the water supply and sanitary items shall be carried out by the experienced plumber to the entire satisfaction of Engineer-in-charge.

8. Rate of each items are including of testing of its and connection and pipe etc. for no leakage.

Providing and fixing fully glazed three track matt finish powder coating Aluminium Fixed/ Sliding Window using Aluminum Section of “Banco Aluminium Ltd.,” with outer frame 101282/H (100.00 x 24.00 x 1.20mm, wt. 0.787 Kg./m) and 3 track bottom 102862/H (91.80 x 31.50 x 1.10mm, wt. 0.90 Kg./m), three track top and side 102861/H (116.50 x 31.20 x 1.20mm, wt. 0.90 Kg./m) including sliding shutter having top and bottom section 202858/H (39.50 x 17.50 x 1.30mm, wt. 0.45 Kg./m), handle side section 205857/H (39.50 x 17.50 x 1.30mm, wt. 0.51 Kg./m) inter lock section 202858/H (39.50 x 17.50 x 1.15mm, wt. 0.50 Kg./m) with 5mm thick plain glass including wall fixtures and fastening with EPDM Jumbow rubber glass seal, wool pvc seal, 100mm Maruti Lock, TPI bearing and aluminium cleats, Silicon sealant, screw and nails also painted/powder coated etc. complete as per design and drawing.

The work shall is general consists of supplying, fabricating, erecting and installing of aluminium windows frame and shutters as shown in the drawings, inclusive of supply and fixing of glass, glazing chips, rubber gaskets. P.V.C. alluding lings, interlocks, locks, and all other such necessary hardware fixtures fastening etc. complete as per the instruction of the Architects the joints between the doors windows with the plaster along the periphery shall be sealed with proper water proofing sealant. The contractor shall have to provide guarantee of complete water proofing.

Materials :

Aluminium extended section shall be Banco or equivalent approved and established manufacturers and suppliers. These shall be of aluminium alloys confirming to IS 733 and sections shall be generally confirming to IS 1948. All the section shall bear an anodize coating minimum of 20 microns, so as to five a good neat polished anodized surface, all section shall be as specified in the drawing.

Glass :

All glass shall be plain/clear of superior quality approved manufacturer having uniform refractive index, no waviness and shall be free from all flows, Spees bubbles, size the cut edges to be strength and free from clips, spells or any other damages. Glass shall conform to M-38 as specified.

Hardware and Fixtures :

All hardware fixtures and fastenings shall be best approved quality screws, nuts, bolts, etc. shall be of G.K.W. Ltd., Calcutta (Nettle Fold) only. Floor mounted cancelled hydraulic door closes shall be from Everlite Agencies Pvt. Ltd., of its F-72 make.

Fabrication and Assembly :

All the frames for doors shall be square and flat. Both fixed openable and sliding shall be constructed of the sections which have been cut to length mitered, carefully machined fitted to hair lined joinery and mechanically fastened in such a manner as to develop the strength of proper joinery. All the glass shall be roughly cleaned before putting then in position. The glass shall be kept in position with the help of special weather resistant rubber linings all over and glassing clips. All necessary holes for holding clips/cleats, glazing, bends, frames, etc. attachments shall be drilled by the contractor. Wall plugs, wooden pegs etc. shall be used to have secured firm fixing to screws.

Acceptance Criteria :

a. Overall Dimensions of frames shall stand within 2mm of the size of opening.

b. Millions transours etc. shall be in one length and permissible deviations from straightness shall be limited +1.5mm from the axis of the member.

c. All the installations shall be free from cracked, broken, damaged glass.

d. The doors/windows shall be completely cleaned of all dirt, stains, gum tapes, etc. at the completion of work when instructed by the site Engineers.

e. Correctness of location and smoothness of operations of all installed hardware. Fixture in a complete assembled erected unit shall determine the acceptability of work.

f. The line levels and correctness of right angles of plaster work shall be checked by the contractor before fixing the door and windows frames and defect if any shall rectified before fixing the frame.

Rates :

a. Payments shall be computed for the complete, assembled erected and commissioned work and no extra shall be honored for wastes, breakages, damages, etc.

b. Payment shall be made on actual visible work done, measured from other faces of frames for the completed job work as per the directions of Architect/Civil Engineer.

Mode of Measurement :

All item shall be measured outside to outside of the concerned frame and shall be paid for one square meter basis of the actual work done. No over lapping or duplication of the measurement shall be allowed.

Wherever two different types of windows are combined the common members shall be divided equally between both type of units and paid accordingly.

The unit rates for a particular type of doors/windows shall be binding and no change in rate shall be considered for minor deviation in measurement or alteration in design.

The rate shall be for Unit of One Sq.mt.

Providing and fixing in position M (Metal)/ F (Frame) suspended "India Gypsum Ltd.," make 12mm. thick Gypboard (Confirming IS-2095-1982) False ceiling which includes framing system GI perimeter channel alongwith screw fixed to brick wall or partition with the help of roll plugs and scres then suspending G.I. Intermediate channel from the Slab at 1220mm center width 25mm, fixed to the intermediate channel at 600mm centers, M/s (10'0" to 2'0") extra supports of various height due to RCC Slab/Beam for hanging extra suspender for light fittings (Wipro-600mm x 600mm approx) as per drawing (Detail) after the completions of Electrification work in ceiling section with 25mm drywall screws at 450mm centers including treating joints with jointing compound and tape. The work shall be carried out as per approved samples of standard quality with painting three coats of Asian royale (Regal White) including priming coat, two coats putty (lafi) as required for satisfactory completing. The rate includes all cost of materials, labour, scaffoliding (as per height) complete for lifts as directed by Engineer-in-charge. (Rate without Electing Point and Fixtures).
