For the protection of our body from different pathogen and harmful
substance. Body has specilised system consisting cell and organ this cell are organ involving protection of deficiency
our body.
• ANTIGEN:
• An antigen , also called an immunogen is a
foreign macromolecule that triggers immune
response and induces antibody production.
• CHARECTERISTICS OF ANTIGEN:
• 1. Immunogenicity
• 2. Antigenicity
Circulated by (for the students of Sem. IV):
Dr. Ranajit Kumar Khalua, Assistant Professor, Narajole Raj College
• TYPES OF ANTIGEN ON THE BASIS OF ORDER OF THEIR CLASS:
i. Exogenous antigen
ii. Endogenous antigen
iii. Auto antigen
• EXOGENOUS ANTIGEN:
• Exogenous antigen are antigen that have
entered the body form outside for example, by inhalation, Ingestion of injection. By
endocytosis or phagocytosis, exogenous
antigen are taken into the antigen presenting cells and processed into fragment
• Example : Bacteria, viruses, fungi
Circulated by (for the students of Sem. IV):

• ENDOGENOUS ANTIGEN :
• Endogenous antigen are signals produce with in own cell the start an immune response.
They alert cytotoxic T cell that a body cell is either infected with a virous, such as
influenza
• AUTOANTIGEN :
• Autoantigen is usually a normal protein or
complex of proteins that is recognized by the immune system of patients suffering from a specific autoimmune disease
Circulated by (for the students of Sem. IV):
Dr. Ranajit Kumar Khalua, Assistant Professor, Narajole Raj College
• ON THE BASIS OF IMMUNE RESPONSE :
• I. Complete antigen
• II. Incomplete antigen
• COMPLETE ANTIGEN:
• Substances which can induce anti body formation by themselves and can react specifically with these antibodies
