About the Conference
As Mathematics is one of the most important subjects and play a pivotal role in all branches of science, the Department of Mathematics, Assam University, Silchar, in association with University Grants Commission (under Special Assistance Programme)is organizing a National Conference onRecent Trends in Mathematical Sciences from 24th to 26th March 2017 so as to emphasize its significance in various scientific arena in the present scenario. The prime objective of the conference is to bring together the eminent academicians and the young researchers to contribute their ideas in order to scatter the fragrance of their splendid research amongst the scientific community.

has been playing the role of a vanguard both in teaching and research. Since its inception the department has brought forth many outstanding students who actively contributed in their respective fields of research and earned reputations throughout the globe. Presently the department offers M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. in its academic curriculum. Many a student of this department has performed stupendously in various competitive examinations like NET, GATE, NBHM Scholarship Examination etc. and have acquired their berths in many prestigious academic institutes. The Department is financially supported by SAP (UGC), FIST (DST) and NBHM (DAE).

Assam University, Silchar is about 17 kms away from the city. Silchar is well connected through Air, Road and Railways.
