INTRODUCTION

Since the last centry, when the internet became widely available, it has played an important role in the process of globalization and the spread of the English language. In fact, the online world helps to preserve the world's slowly dying languages and dialects in smaller societies.

Today, the application of technology or the internet represents the most recent, broadest, and fastest means of exchanging information all through the world. The English language is an essential means of communicating data between numerous community members.

As a result, social networking and electronic communication technology have transformed the method of writing and speaking in English. Communication technology encompasses a wide range of electronic communication forms. Such forms are typically associated with internet access, which is now available via both computers and mobile phones. E-mail, chat rooms, forums, instant messaging devices, social networking sites, gaming networks, and Web logs are examples (blogs). According to Omar and Miah (2012), nearly four out of every ten teenagers

406 (45%) own both a computer and a cell phone. Users of these devices can make phone calls and send text messages. The impact of this process can be seen in the daily behavior of young people as well as in their educational system. The impact of technology and the internet on current English language can be observed and felt in a variety of ways and techniques. For starters, it has a lot of "jargon language." Second, it gives meaning to existing words and phrases, such as'mouse' and 'keyboard,' among others.Furthermore, it generates phrases for unifying the utterances of people all over the world who meet each other via social media despite being in remote locations. Furthermore, technology can create unique linguistic "memes" far faster and further than ever before. For example, the term "cloud" refers to a vague collection of people who work on computers in a general sense.According to David Crystal (2015), technological innovations facilitate new hobbies through producing new English language styles. As a result, the impact of a specific technical medium is thought to be particularly interesting. For Crystal, it is a rather transient phenomena that takes a long time to be recognized as a significant alteration. Using some social media, such as Twitter, can influence what people write by influencing how they write. The English language is nearly identical to what it was 20 years ago.It is argued that, to some extent, technological change causes linguistic and cultural change.

That is why dictionaries are constantly updated with new and often highly trendy words. Dewey (2015) and Al-Kadi (2017) argue that old words with new meanings are more intriguing than new ones in this regard. For example, the words "cloud," "tablet," and "catfish" are all examples of old words having new meanings. She is concerned that the internet is destroying proper English. For her, the explanation is that dictionaries.com's 20th anniversary is more intriguing than most.

Discuss the Impact of Technology on English

According to the fact access to technology poses no threat to business or social interactions, it is now widely accessible and does not pose any difficulties. Almost all native English speakers and foreign learners use the internet, and those who do tend to use it numerous times throughout the day. All living languages evolve over time; the internet has provided a new medium for these changes to occur. English spelling, vocabularies, pronunciation, and grammar have evolved as the internet has become a public technology and a medium of communication available worldwide.Researchers who have engaged in debates have expressed divergent opinions regarding the changes brought about by the influence of the internet. The effects of the internet pose a threat to English's standard variants. These reasons are related to the fact that modern social media frequently utilize English that deviates from the accepted variants.

An effort was made to establish stability, order, and identity for the English language style in the late eighteenth century (McCrum et al. 1992).Another group of scholars who pushed for the preservation of the language.According to Considine (2014), the English language is distinct from other languages in that it doesn't have an official version that it is charged with regulating.

In addition, Goring (2005) elaborates that the English language should be fixed, with the English dictionary serving as the foundation and all future generations as the founders. There were also unified grammar rules adopted, therefore some academics (such as Considine, 2014;

Goring, 2005; Jackson, 2013) looked for a single grammar book as the need for a unified grammar increased.

407 While others, like David Crystal (2001, 2005, 2011), contend that technology has ushered in a linguistic revolution.

These modifications to English form and usage, according to Crystal and other researchers like Herring (2011), have given rise to a new branch of linguistics known as Internet Linguistics.

Internet linguistics is a hot topic in various academic settings when it comes to computermediated discourse analysis or digital communication (CMDA). This discourse is comparable to other discourses in which people converse and engage. Here, communication occurs through the verbal and written exchange of messages between computers connected by a network. According to this area of discourse, online or email style is influenced by social and economic considerations. Email English, according to Cho (2010), is more informal than other types of written communication.

GOALS OF THE STUDY

The current study tries to identify recent changes in the English language brought about by the usage of technology and theuse of the internet for regular electronic communication. This study focuses on the changes that have occurred in English writing as a result of the use of various forms of social media, including emails, chat rooms, text messages, and blogs.

The Impact of Technology on Shaping the Internet Language

The daily usage of the English language has undergone substantial modifications as a result of excessive technology or internet use, most of which are neither good nor bad, but different.

People may therefore inquire as to how technology has affected their speech and writing both offline and online. The changes that have occurred in internet users' written works will be the main topic of this essay. As a result, new vocabularies, new spelling, punctuation, and syntax can all be found in the English writing used on the internet. Despite the fact that the internet is a widely accessible English-based network, cross-cultural differences frequently pose issues for consumers when they utilize the internet.

These problems could be easily solved as they help internet users to understand each other.

Internet language is viewed as a set of different genres and registers used in different situations. The language of the Internet has some characteristics related to language and writing,i.e. phonetically and phonologically. In addition, you see a fully formed language style with its own vocabulary, abbreviations, spelling and punctuation, grammar, slang, and all the other characteristics that make up a true language style.

As noted by Crystal (2001), Internet users have the ability to communicate faster and send short text messages to each other. With words in particular, the new vocabulary being manipulated in electronic communications offers a fascinating insight into how quickly new words can appear and then be selected.

This usage is often associated with the needs of internet users.
