Department of Management, St, Paul Institute of Professional Studies, DAVV, Indore, India Abstract - Technology drives healthcare more than any other force, and in the future it will continue to develop in dramatic ways. Today, it has become unimaginable to do the work without technological gadgets, be it a laptop, mobile or any other gadgets, every now & then we have got ourselves surrounded with Tech gadgets. This is the secondary data based research paper. The authors have reviewed extant literature by various researchers worldwide. This study highlights the positive, negative & overall impact of technological gadget & services on health & lifestyles. The purpose of this paper is to make technological users aware about both beneficial & harmful consequences of the technological gadgets.

The results of this study will lead to a better understanding of limited & needed use of gadgets to the various stakeholders.

Key Words: Technological Impacts, Health & Lifestyle, Usage of Gadgets.

1 TECHNOLOGICAL GADGETS AND SERVICES

There are several studies which show the positive impacts of the technological gadgets and services. Other studies reveal the negative impacts of these tech-products. Some of the studies take both the positive and negative impacts of these technologies into consideration and some others show a balanced approach regarding the use of the tech-gadgets and services.

1.1 Positive Impacts of Technology

In fact, the current generation's usage of technological devices and services has a positive impact on IT markets, which is good for the economy. Individuals' investigative skills, strategic thinking, and creativity potential may be enhanced by technological devices and gaming. These technological products and services provide greater learning opportunities for adolescents, as well as sources of pleasure and entertainment that help them escape the stresses of daily life. The digital activity of the youth causes them to sit in one spot for extended periods of time, maintaining eye, hand, and mental synchronization. Crossing the levels in the games one by one may help young people enhance their engineering skills.

Tsitsika & Janikian 2013--The Internet continues to expand beyond our wildest expectations. About 32.7 percent of the world's population has access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, YouTube, Flickr, blogs, wikis, and many others, which allow people of all ages to quickly share their current interests with others across the world. As a result of internet use, global interconnection is fast increasing.

Samson, 2010—Students are linked to course learning objectives when they use laptops and other electronic gadgets on the instructor's suggestion. The employment of these digital gadgets in the classroom can have a favourable impact on young kids' learning and engagement.

Ophir, Nass, and Wagner 2009--Individuals who participate in a high level of technical activity via digital gadgets do better on cognitive tests. The proper usage of devices can have a favourable impact on cognitive processing and help people grasp multitasking.

Sellen & Harper 2002 --The usage of digital gadgets in the medical setting can be quite beneficial. The ability to save, search, and share patient information via computers, as well as access to information on new health-related inventions via the internet, has made doctors' jobs easier.

2 NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF TECHNOLOGY

Although using technological devices and services has many benefits, they are transient. It has long-term harmful consequences for individuals. Digital activities strengthen youth

technical skills while weakening real-world practical skills. It draws the young people away from reality and allows them to live in a fantasy world. Youth are avoiding some outdoor activities with friends and family due to their time spent on electronics. Indulging in violent games may lead to an increase in mental aggression. The more they use the gadgets, the more obsessed they become with them, which may cause them to neglect their studies..

When they are playing games and are unable to attain the intended goal, they may become more nervous. After all, children who are addicted to technology may develop unhealthy lifestyles, poor time management, and poor eating habits. The papers that follow show some of the negative effects of technological devices and services.

Walsh, 2012—It would have been much better if the disadvantages or bad consequences of using digital services had been discovered years ago. Because the usage of digital services has negative consequences, students should limit their use of these tools and be aware of their implications.

Cabral, 2011— Generation Y, or the current generation, is psychologically addicted to social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Addiction generates intrapsychic difficulties in young people, such as intolerance and relapse.

Cotton, 2001—College students are experiencing depressed symptoms as a result of their online gaming and buying. To detect and reduce these activities among them, programmes must be implemented.

Young, 1998—Internet addiction has a harmful impact on mental health. Internet addiction has been linked to psychiatric problems such as depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention deficit disorder, and others. As a result, internet addiction should be treated medically.

Shapira and colleagues, 2003— Excessive internet usage not only causes problems, but it may also be frustrating and disabling. Technological addiction is on the rise in countries such as Italy, Pakistan, and the Czech Republic. In terms of electronic addiction, Indian youths are no different. In China, Korea (Hur, 2006), and Taiwan, online games have created major health problems (Lee, 2007). It is estimated that 10% of China's 30 million internet gamers are addicted (Ko, Yen, Yen, Lin & Yang, 2007).

Young, 2004--Excessive use of technology can have a negative impact on a child's academic performance, relationships, and general development. Technology addiction has been established as a result of such perplexing technological use, which has numerous detrimental health and social consequences

3 TECHNOLOGY HAS BOTH POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS

Saez, 2010-- Some research examine both the good and negative effects of using technological devices and services, providing a balanced perspective on their use.

Technology is ingrained in our daily lives because people all around the world rely on it for communication, organising, and employment. Even a single day without technology is impossible. There isn't a day that goes by without someone holding a cell phone or perusing the internet on a laptop. Even when technology is at its best, there are fundamental issues that plague us everywhere, and it has flaws in the areas of health, public safety, and education

Mitchel, 2012--In today's technology world, students should be encouraged to grow. Elders should understand the importance of social networking, computer games, and digital habits. However, the repercussions of those practises should also be investigated. It is preferable to investigate the link between technology, child development, and popular culture. Parents should assist their children have a healthy and balanced connection with technology by teaching them how to use social media successfully

Chou, Condron & Belland, 2005--Experts from various sectors, such as academicians and health experts, do research in the field of internet addiction. The consequences of this should be studied, as should the issues surrounding internet addiction. We can overcome the negative effects of internet technology and use it for progress rather than being overtaken by it if we accomplish the above

Watkins, 2003--Since people are constantly attempting to reinvent themselves and adopt new and better ways of living, the use of electronic gadgets and services has risen to unprecedented levels. The widespread adoption of these technological devices has a

favourable impact on consumer demand. The never-ending pop cultural war is progressing side by side through these individual actions

Technology has two sides to it. It is apparent from the above reviews that today's youth are the primary technology buyers. This mixed set of research findings prompted researchers to consider how young people are using technology to make positive changes in their life while avoiding the negative implications of excessive use of technology. The problem statement has been established based on the literature review.

4 IMPACT OF TECHNOLOGY ON HEALTH AND LIFE-STYLE

We now know that the usage of any technology has an impact on mental health and lifestyle, either directly or indirectly, and that this impact can be positive or detrimental.

When use becomes addiction, both parties may suffer negative consequences. The statements that follow demonstrate the same. Prof. Phil Reed (2013), a psychologist from Swansea University's College of Human and Health Sciences, says that internet addiction is to blame for today's generation's unhappiness, social isolation, and sleep disruption. He also claims that the same has numerous detrimental consequences for their health.

Dr. Kimberly Young, a psychologist, began researching technology addiction in 1995 and published her findings in the book "Caught in the Net" in 1998. She equates online addiction to drug or alcohol addiction since the internet gives addicted people the same high, making their addiction feel normal. Swansea and Milan 13 undertook a study in the year 2013.

Boothroyd, 2014--When addicts go online, they experience unfavorable mood swings, melancholy, and impulsivity, according to research. Countries such as the United States, China, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea have issued warnings that internet addiction poses a serious health risk

4.1 Problem Statement

A large number of studies in this field have been undertaken mostly in western countries and countries with developed societies. In certain countries, the availability and convenience of technological devices and services are abundant. Comparatively fewer studies are undertaken in developing nations such as India, and even fewer studies are conducted in metro cities. The majority of studies focused on the onset and impact of tech addiction, but less on the motivation behind it. In most research, the youth segment of society is mostly ignored.

5 CONCLUSION

In the Past few decades, technology & its usage has grown swiftly. It really changes the way people think & communicate. Technological consequences are positive & negative which will decide about society to grow or decline. In fact, the current generation's usage of technological devices and services has a positive impact on IT markets, which is good for the economy. Although using technological devices and services has many benefits, they are transient. It has long-term harmful consequences for individuals. In this Study we have seen that how various authors, through their research, has tried to underline that how Positive impacts can turn in to a negative impacts if usage of technology becomes addiction.

Investigative skills, strategic thinking, and creativity potential are some of the positive impacts along with weakening real-world practical skills, living in a fantasy world, avoiding outdoor activities are some of the negative consequences. So, How to manage these developments is the subject of much discussion so that the betterment of human beings in terms of mental health & lifestyle can be sought.

6 FUTURE PERSPECTIVE

India is on the way to make it Digital India. Emerging technologies, such as industrial robots, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, are advancing at a rapid pace. The tragedy between the age of limited resources in which we have lived & the advanced age of plenty through new technologies requires attention to the social contract. Along with mental health & lifestyle impacts technology can really bring dramatic shifts in employment &

leisure time that are taking place. With reference to research, majority of studies focused on

the onset & impact of tech addiction, but less on the motivation behind it. So Future researchers can focus on these issues, & can provide better clarity about how to deal with these factors so that negative impacts can be minimized. Further this research will provide a good understanding for Tech Usage, as many villages /areas are there where the usage of technology is not up to the mark. So Government & Other Suppliers can think about this &

can provide a helping hand to the Dream of Digital India.
