【Year 6】I’ve Working on the Rail Road ６年生は、進行形を学習しました。今まで学習し てきたたくさんの動詞を使って、進行形という形 を学びました。ジェスチャーゲームなどを通して Are you～ing?と、今していることをたずねる表現 にも触れました。今週からはスキット（短い話を英 語で演じます）にチャレンジしています。

Hey Diddle Diddle
授業参観ありがとうございました。4 年生は除々に 3 年生までに貯えてきた語彙を使い、文の形に当て はめていきます。耳から良く聞き、文字を見て、書き、
音声化するという流れで 4 技能のバランスを取って いきます。文字を見てもしっかり発音できることを目 標にしています。

2 年生は料理で使う動詞や材料、道具などの言葉 を使って、グループでレシピの下書きをしていま す。カレーライス・ピザ・パンケーキ・サンドイッ チ・パンケーキの中から何の
レシピを書くか選びました。
そして、必要な道具や材料 について話し合いました。
【Year 5】 Playmate
５年生は、職業の語彙と、第三者が持っている 物 He/ She has の学習をしてきました。自分の将 来の夢を書き、発表します。また、テキストブッ クに載っている早口言葉を使い、文字と音にも慣 れていきます。語彙探しではたくさんの語彙が出 て、子供たちの語彙の多さに驚きました。

【アフタースクール英語】
●１，２年生のオンライントークでは、ハロウィーンについて楽しそうに先生と英語で話す子供たちの姿が 印象的でした。外国の先生と英語で話すことに慣れてきた様子が見られます。
●３年生～６年生はタイダイをしました。今年はバンダナを染めました。きれいな模様がでたでしょうか？
英語劇の音声が聞けないなどの問題がありましたら、空のCDをお持ち下さい。コピーを作成いたします。
3,4年生は、12月1日（金）、2日（土）の学習発表会で英語劇の発表もします。どうぞお楽しみに！
【Year 1】 American Jump
1 年生は虫についての学習が終了しました。自分の 選んだ虫の絵を描きクラスで発表をしました。発表で は虫の特徴（色や羽の枚数など）を英語で説明しまし た。聞いている方は何の虫について言っているのか 当てました。虫について学んだことをテストもしまし た。今週からは、葉っぱを教材として“形”の言葉につ いて学習し始めました。

【Year 1】
We are now working on long vowels. There are many ways to make the sound for one vowel. For example, long a: “ay” as in stay, “ai” as in rain, “-a-e” as in cake. We’ve covered a, e, and i. We are now left with o and u. The students are enjoying playing with and using the sounds.
Many students are writing front and back of the page in their journal.

【Year 3】
We are working on the five senses. The students have completed 2 of the five senses: “Sight” and “Hearing”. Students have been learning about “Touch” most recently. We learned that we have nerves that tell us what something feels like and that these nerves are all over our bodies. Apart from sensing things with our fingertips, we can also feel things with our toes. A “Feet It” activity helped Mr. Okori’s students to understand that we can actually use our toes to feel things, an activity that Ms. Atkin’s students will be soon completing.
Next week a permission form for tasting will be sent home, please be sure to fill it out and return so all students can participate in a fun
and tasty lesson. 【Year 6】
After selecting a topic, the students were grouped together to write a talk show. They have been busy creating questions and answers that match the topic of their show. The past two classes have been full of fine tuning the show and practicing. After their school trip, the students will be presenting their talk shows to some of the younger International Students at a luncheon and as such, they should continue to practice their roles.

Culture Corner: This month at the culture corner, we tried a new game where students select 15 numbers out of the numbers 1 to 20, write the selected numbers on the blocks of a pyramid then proceed to play “Rock, Paper, Scissors”. Winners say and circle a number from their pyramids, losers can also circle the same number if they have it, otherwise just move on. The first to circle every number on their pyramid wins the round. Since students enjoy playing this game, we generally continue playing until everyone crosses every number on their pyramid.
MobyMax: Students should be completed with MobyMax by 4:30 on December 5th, as listed below. Twice a week for 10 minutes each will get you done more easily than 2 hours the day before will.
Year 1: 35 minutes in each category: Language/Alphabet, Vocabulary/Phonics, Reading/Early Reading Trio, and Free.
Year 2-6: 70 minutes in each category: Language, Vocabulary, and Reading. 50 minutes free.
【Year 2】
We finished studying good questions with “wh” question words like “what, when, where, who, and how”. After that, the students used their new knowledge to write 10 questions for a teacher other than their homeroom teachers. The best 6 questions were written to neat and will be given to the teachers to respond. We have also completed noun pointers like “a” and “an”, and are now working on pronouns.
【Year 4】
We are studying insects. Despite the dislike for these little creatures from many students, they are doing a good job with studying them. Recently, we observed some insects, both dead and living ones. Students had to write down some adjectives describing the insects based on what they look like and feel like. They have been busy collecting notes on an insect of their choice for a project.
As for grammar, students have been studying the use of pronouns such as I, me, my, mine, and myself.
【After School English】
Our newest song is “Beaver”. It is fun to act like a beaver. Also, we have been taking turns reading a book to each other in small groups.
We wrote Halloween poems recently too!
【Volunteers】

【Year 5】
All students selected a famous person to research. Since then they have been busy taking notes on this person. The next step is to organize these notes into a speech.
Ms. Atkin’s class just finished reading and discussing an Environment Booklet. We talked about: carbon footprints; the size of our carbon footprint; how we waste resources; and reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Mr. Okori’s students are working on grammar points and how to make good sentences. The students reviewed how to use conjunctions to combine two simple sentences into a compound or complex sentence.
We also studied colons, semicolons and commas in our sentences and ended with sentence sandwiches.
