大学教職員のための業務用英会話 集中研修実施要項
１．主 催
北海道大学大学院教育推進機構 高等教育研修センター

令和5年12月8日（金）16:00〜18:00、12月19日（火）15:00〜17:00
３．趣 旨
６月に各1.5時間、全3回構成の「実用英会話（業務英会話）研修」を実施したところ、
大変好評でした。そこでこの度、2時間に内容を集約した集中研修を開催いたします。好 評だったペアワークは、今回も多数取り入れるとともに、参加者から要望のあった学会な どでの受付時の英語基本表現も組み込んでいます。本研修は主に参加者同士のペアワーク を通じ、想定される状況を基にした実践的訓練を行うことで英語力の向上を図ります。な お、6月に開催した研修の趣旨は、以下の通りです。
窓口に英語がコミュニケーション言語の学生が来た、あるいは英語ですべての手続き等 を実施する教員から電話が来たなどの経験はありませんか。これらはどの部署に異動にな ったとしても、もはや避けられないことではないでしょうか。そんな時、「○○さん対応お 願いします」と英語ができる人に頼るのではなく、簡単な英語でも自分でコミュニケーシ ョンがとれるようになりたいものです。
そこで、教職員向けの初歩的な英会話研修を実施します。本研修では、学生時代の既習 の単語や表現を思い出しながら、英語を話すことに慣れ親しみ、英語で業務をしなければ ならない場面でも落ち着いて会話ができるようになることを目的とします。

Intensive Practical English Training for University Faculty and Staff members

Have you ever encountered an international student who can only communicate in English, or received a phone call from a faculty member who must conduct all of their procedures in English?
Such occurrences are unavoidable, regardless of which department you are transferred to. In these situations, you would prefer to be able to communicate in simple English yourself, rather than relying on someone who can speak English and having to ask, “XX-san, please take care of this for me.”
The Practical English Conversation (Business English) seminar, consisting of three sessions of 90 minutes each, was held in June this year and was very well received. We have therefore decided to hold an intensive training seminar with a more compact content for two hours. The popular pair work sessions will be repeated this time, and basic expressions at registration of academic conferences in English will also be included, as suggested by participants. This seminar aims to improve English language skills through practical training based on anticipated situations, mainly through pair work.
This seminar offers practical/business English conversation training to both faculty and staff members (at the beginner level). The purpose of this training is to help re-familiarize yourself with spoken English, recall words and expressions you have already learned as students, and be able to speak confidently in situations where you have to perform your duties in English.

Faculty and staff members who belong to higher education facilities (including part-time lecturers and staff).Each training accepts maximum 40 participants.

9. Program
Same for both sessions:
・Expressions related to requests, such as "I want you to do ____".
・Expressions that convey your situation to the other person, using cushioning language.
・Negative expressions, such as "I can't___" and "please don't___".
・The following are some examples of expressions that can be used in English.
