Programme Information
Academic Calendar January to June (Spring semester)
Vacations: 1 week of March, and 3 weeks in July
August to December (Fall semester)

Language / GPA Requirement Almost all our courses are offered in Spanish. Students must have a good knowledge of Spanish. No certification is needed.

All IPN academic offer is available for exchange students.

Grading System The grading scale is from 0 to 10, with 6 being the minimum and 10 the maximum approving passing grades.
Other Notes The costs of language courses are $280.00 –
$1,500.00 (MXN) . Courses last two months.
Language offer: Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese
The virtual courses are not included in the Exchange Program.

Accommodation for Exchange Students
The Institute does not have Student Residence. Most students of the Institute live with their families or in student houses near the corresponding School.
Upon request we could send you a list of suggested housing.
In case of need, the Institute will provide support for exchange students to find suitable accommodation.
Campus Facilities Each IPN school has sports facilities, medical care, cafeteria, library. Besides, at Campus Zacatenco there are the biggest sports facilities with football, beisbol and soccer stadiums, the olimpic swimming pool, and tae-kwon do gym.
Other Services The IPN has the National Library of Science and Technology, the “Luis Enrique Erro” Planetarium, the Tezozomoc Museum of Science and Technology, and the TV Channel 11.
Arrival and Orientation Programme
Suggested Date of Arrival One or two weeks before classes begin
Airport Pick-up Upon request, Exchange Students, could be received at the Airport in Mexico City and be escorted to their accommodation with no cost. They must inform the flight details at least three
weeks in advance. The request should be sent by email to the Academic Cooperation Coordination [email protected]
Orientation Programme One week before classes starting.

Visa and Insurance
Visa Requirements & Procedures Before your trip to Mexico, please verify if you need a VISA to travel to Mexico.

In case you need to process your Student Visa, please go to the nearest Mexican Embassy or Consulate at your country.
-You will need the acceptance letter issued by IPN among other documents
Upon arrival to Mexico Int’l Airport all foreigners will have to fill out a Multiple Migratory Form (FMM). In this form you should specify your status as a student.
Later on, you must go to the National Migration Institute to enroll in the National Foreigners Register.
Those students whose stays in Mexico exceed 180 days will have to obtain another migratory form.
IPN’s International Office along with Attorney’s Office will give you support for all paperwork involved upon your arrival.
Health Insurance The exchange student must acquire before his/her arrival at IPN, an international medical insurance to cover expenses for accident, illness and repatriation, during the mobility period.
Expenses
Accommodation Monthly rent of a Department of 1 or 2 rooms: $3,000 - 5,000 (MXN)
Monthly rent of a Room in an apartment in a middle zone:
$2,000 - 2,500 (MXN)
Meals $100 – 150 (MXN) per Day
Local Transportation Subway ticket $3 (MXN), bus $5-7 (MXN) per trip, Academic Expenses
(textbook, stationeries, etc)
$250-450 (MXN) per textbook
Personal Expenses $100-200 (MXN)
Other Expenses Cinema ticket $50 (MXN), coffee $15 (MXN), soda $10 (MXN)
