Before independence, the Central Asian region, as part of the USSR, represented an ideological and political opponent of the United States (US) during the Cold War. Yet the presence and influence of the West in the Central Asian regional process was very different between the two periods: the first decade of Central Asian independence and the following decade of the 2000s. Research methodology and literature review This work examines the declining role of the West in Central Asia.
Paradoxically, promising partners for some Central Asian states were found among the distant powers of the West. In the 1990s, the West's active engagement in the Central Asian region helped local citizens. The further reduction of US and European interests in the region could lead to a worsening of the political calculus.
A study on the declining role of the West in the countries of Central Asia included the participation of 291 respondents from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Regarding one of the directly relevant issues of this research, the Western presence in Central Asia, 52% of respondents agreed that the presence of Western countries in the region is declining. Moreover, 56% of the respondents believe that the reduction of the presence of the West will negatively affect the development of the region.
A majority, 70%, believe that China's presence in the region will not produce any positive effect on the region's development, while 30% disagree. It is also notable that slightly more than half of the respondents, 54%, believe that the reduction of Russia's influence and presence in Central Asia will not cause any negative consequences in the region. New security arrangements were established around the Central Asian states, based on Western strategic visions of the region and internal security initiatives, in the form of the collective security system.

One of the stages of the tradition of statehood, dating back to the Saka and Huns periods, is associated with the Turkic era. The Turkic period is a historical period that stands at the origin of the medieval period of Kazakhstan. This historical period, which began with the organization of the Turkic tribes as a state, is a process that continued for several centuries.
During this period, the Turkic tribes were able to create several states with common characteristics and successfully perform leading functions in the region. In this article, the author clearly shows the regularity of the formation of state traditions in the Turkish era and draws new conclusions. In particular, the author established that the Turkic tribes became a political institution, which emphasized the characteristics of the early states.
At the same time, in the article, identifying the signs characteristic of early states, the author was able to motivate the main features of the statehood of the Turkish era. In the course of the article, the author attempts to fully cover the main research articles on the problem. The Turkish khaganates, created in the earliest Middle Ages, are a vivid example of statehood formed by the nomads of this historical period.
The author is convinced that science has a Eurocentric approach, he precisely formulates his groundlessness precisely through the tradition of statehood in the Turkish era.
