STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF SLAG SOLUBLE COPPER IN THE SLAG COPPER MELTING

The theme actuality. Smelting ores and concentrates, as well as secondary non-ferrous metals is accompanied by obtaining large quantities of slag, in which a portion of the extracted metal is lost. Process slag in smelting furnaces (shaft or reflective) consists of two most stadiy- melting fusible charge components to form primary ash and dissolving the primary slag refractory components during draining slag through the charge. Simultaneously, the slag can flow reactions leading to recovery, sulfidation or oxidation of certain components, in particular of metals contained in the raw material. When formed in this reduction process of melting metals, their sulfides and other compounds that do not dissolve in the slag and form a second phase in the form of colloidal particles. Thus it will be the main task of fusion - separation of non-ferrous metals contained in the ore from the gangue.

The structure and chemical composition of the slag has a major impact on the metal loss. The composition of the slag affects the solubility of sulfides and the rate of the smelting process, determines the temperature at which slag flows out of the melting furnace, viscosity, specific gravity and surface tension. Therefore, changing the composition of the slag influences the loss and rasstvorimost metals.

The work purpose. Preparation of new data on the composition of the slag influences solubility in copper smelting process; study to reduce losses of metals in the slag; establishing critical copper concentration in the slag and quantification of copper depending on the composition of the slag; learning process smelting copper sulphide concentrates.

Research problems:

1) study of physical and chemical properties of the slag;

2) the study of the process of smelting copper sulphide concentrates.

Research object. Slag copper smelting

Scientific novelty. We studied the effect of magnetite slags on the solubility of copper.

Work approbation. The main provisions of the thesis presented at: «XIII International student scientific and practical conference» in Novosibirsk, 2017.
