Как известн о, наследие гениев во все врем ена являлось бездон н ы м кладезем ж ивительны х м ы слей и новы х и дей для б у д у щ и х поколений. В этой связи в рамках традиционны х «С атпаевских чтений», которые проводятся И нститутом в память этого величайш его уч ен ого в апреле м есяце на протяж ении м ноги х лет, набирает си лу направление, посвящ енное научном у творчеству и други х талантливых геологов.Знаком ство с великими осн овополож никам и геологической науки, их славным наследием с п озиций сохранения связи поколений представляется крайне важным и своеврем енны м.
О традно, что м олодеж ь все активнее включается в эти мероприятия, подхватывая традиции средн его поколения. Как говорил П лутарх «Глядя в истори ю , словно в зеркало, я стараю сь и зм е
нить к лучш ем у собств ен н ую ж изнь и устроить ее по прим еру тех, о чьих д обл естя х рассказывают.
В се это напом инает п остоянное и близкое общ ен и е, благодаря истории мы точно принимаем к аж дого из великих л ю дей в своем д о м е как д ор огого гостя, узн аем кто он и что сделал».
П оэтом у мне сегодня коротко хочется напомнить участникам конф еренции о главном факторе развития науки-кадрах и заслуге К. И. Сатпаева в реш ении этого вопроса.
К. И. Сатпаев не только соби рал вокруг себя как П р ези ден т и как директор института д о с т о й ных, преданны х науке выпускников В У За, аспирантов, докторантов, л ю дей производства, он их пестовал, создавая все условия для соверш енствования, обучен и я, работы и даж е быта. Б удучи строгим судь ей в воп росах нравственности, ответственности, добр осов естн ости и тр удолю би я к себ е, он того ж е требовал от други х. П риглаш енные им в A к адем и ю , как правило, оправды вали его выбор. М ногие из н их стали вровень со своим наставником, бы ли его преданны ми соратниками, а после его кончины продолж ателям и его дел , идей, планов.
Звание «сатпаевец» бы ло вы сш ей наградой, признанием для уч ен ого, производственника.
Сформированная им за не полные 23 года когорта вы даю щ ихся учены х во в сех отраслях науки Казахстана и о со б ен н о геологии, обесп еч и л а высокий уровень развития науки и статус A кадем ии наук, И нститута на четыре десятка лет, п осле его кончины и п осл ед ую щ его у х о д а его м ладш их коллег и соратников.
Он не доп уск ал и мысли, что какие то проблемы м огут остаться нереш енны ми. Он ум ел у б е ж дать и добивался полож ительного реш ения в сех вопросов, связанны х с развитием науки. В о имя этого он не щ адил себя, не считался со врем енем , целиком отдавался д е л у и м обилизовы вал себя и др уги х на дости ж ен и е нам еченны х целей. От у сп ехов в реш ении даж е м алейш их вопросов, свя
занны х с развитием лю бого научного уч реж ден ия и всей A к адем и и в целом, он получал огром ное моральное удовлетворени е. Он считал своим дол гом принимать активное участие в разреш ении всех важ нейш их вопросов хозяйствен ного и культурного строительства в стране и республике. В труде на благо социалистической Родины , в науке он видел смы сл св оей ж изни, и тр уд был его первой ж и зн ен н ой н еобходи м остью .
В т ех вопросах, в п олож ительном реш ении которы х он видел больш ую пользу и перспективу для развития науки и н ародного хозяйства, он проявлял н есги баем ую волю и вы сокую принци
пиальность. Он лю бил повторять, что сам ой правильной политикой является принципиальная политика. Эти качества КанышИмантаевич Сатпаев всегда стремился привить м олоды м работ
никам науки.

Э тот опыт им еет о со б о е значения на соврем енн ом этапе развития науки-этапе практически полного обновления кадрового состава, смены поколений, отсутствия специалистов по важ нейш им направлениям геологической науки. А этот процесс долж ен быть непрерывным и тр ебует больш ой период. Как известно К. И. Сат- паев начал заботится о кадрах производственниках с первого дн я приезда в Карсакпай, равно как о кадрах науки, сразу по п ер еезд у в А лм ату на п ост директора первого в си стем е К азФ А Н СССР института геологич еск и х наук, а затем и для всей А кадем ии. Д остаточно напомнить, что число сотрудников филиала, в том числе остеп ен ны х за три года бы ло достаточны м , что уж е в 1 9 4 4 году ставить вопрос о реапганизации К азФ А Н СССР в респ ублик ан скую академию наук.И хотя ю ри ди чески Каныш Имантаевич не был научным руководителем ни одн ого доктора или кандидата, но все учены е старш его поколения считали его своим учителем , наставником. Более того, практически все научны е, особен н о публицистические статьи, вы ступления Каныш Имантаевич писал сам. Б иб
лиография его публикаций, включающая около 800 наименований им еет только 30 соавторов. Кроме М . П. Русакова (5 работ), И. И. Бока (4 работы ) остальные соавторы и м ею т с ним по 1 -2 статьи.
Э ти факты и м ею т больш ое воспитательное значение для ср едн его и м ладш его поколения.
Только личная ответственность за полученны е результаты, публикации повыш ает ответственность уч ен ого, приносит авторитет и признание.
Он м ногим лидерам казахстанской науки, образования, производства дал путевку в ж изнь.
Э тот ф ен ом ен К. И. Сатпаева м ож н о объяснить ещ е и тем , что его личностны е черты характера, уникальные сп особн ост и крупного организатора, государствен н ого и общ ествен н ого деятеля позволили ем у общ аться с вы даю щ имися личностями СССР того периода. В числе тех, с кем К. И. Сатпаев активно сотрудничал и п оддерж ивал тесны е деловы е отнош ения, бы ли вы дающ иеся личности: министры СССР - П. Я. А нтропов, Е. П. Славский, академики - В. А . О бручев, М. А . У сов, В. Л. К омаров, А . Н. Н есм еянов, И. П. Бардин, Д. И. Щ ербаков, Д. В. Наливкин, Ф. В. Ч ухров, М . В. Келды ш , В. А . А м барцум ян, Х . М. А бдуллаев, и м ногие други е известны е учены е, общ ественны е и государственны е деятели страны.
У дивительно, что рядовой инж ен ер-геолог, учены й реш ает государственны е вопросы страны, встречаясь с руководителям и П равительства СССР С. О рдж аникидзе, К огановичом , Н. Косы гины м и др. Его авторитет в вы сш их эш алонах власти и А кадем ии наук СССР был непререкаем , что отмечал сам Е. П. Славский.
Естественно, имея такой пример, вокруг Каныш И мантаевич сформировалась уникальная когорта его коллег-геологов: Н. Г. К ассин, И. П. Русаков, Р. А . Борукаев, И. И. Бок, Е. Д . Ш лыгин, Г. Ц. М едоев, П. Я. А вров, Ж. А . А йталиев, И . П. Н овохатский, Д. Н. Казанли, Н. Г. Щ ерба, A. К. К аю пов, Г. Б. Ж илинский, С. Ш . Сейфуллин, С. К. Калинин, Н. Г. Бубличенко, Н. Г. Сергиев, П. Т. Таж ибаева, А. А. А бдул и н , Г. Л. К уш ев, А. К. М аш анов, М. В . Таш инина, А . Т. Нурлы баев, B. К. М онич, Н. Ф. К олотилин, В . Г. Ли, И. Ф. Никитин, Б. И. В ей ц, М. А . Кажды й из н и х стал родоначальником нового научного направления, руководитель научной школы и воспитатель достой н ы х учеников.

нальной А кадем и и наук РК - ср еди сотрудников И нститута. С озданны й К. И. Сатпаевым и его соратниками ф ундам ент позволяет достаточно прочно стоять и сегодня И нституту геологических наук им. К. И. Сатпаева, отм етивш ем у недавно 75-лети е, сохранив статус еди нственн ого в р есп у б лике флагмана геологической науки.
И сегодня воздавая, в оч ер едн ой раз, дол ж н ое п ервопроходцам , работаю щ ем у старш ем у п околению - п оследователей, за и х титанический тр уд, мы н адеем ся, что м ол одое поколение достой н о п родолж ит эти славные традиции, бескоры стного служ ения своем у н ароду, стране.
П ом ните, что б е з эти х учены х у Х Х века не бы ло бы своего лица и от В ас зависит сегодня каким оно б у д ет у Х Х века.
«Х арактерную черту науки составляет, то, что она тр ебует сильной личности» - говорил великий И. М. М ечников. В ерим , что он и б у д у т ср еди наш ей м ол одеж и , начинаю щ ей свой трудны й путь в геологии в прославленном И нституте, носящ им имя «Человека Века».

H eritage o f g en iu ses at all tim es w as an inexhaustible spring o f life-g iv in g thoughts and n ew ideas for future generations. W ithin the traditional "Satpayev Readings" w h ich are carried out by the Institute in m em ory o f the greatest scientist in April during a lot o f years, is gaining m om entum , direction, dedicated to scien tific w ork and other talented g eo lo g ists. Introduction to the great founders o f the g eo lo g ica l scien ce, preserving their glorious heritage and the connection b etw een generations is extrem e important and tim ely.
It is gratifying that young people all are taking part m ore a ctively in these actions, taking up the m iddle generation's traditions. H o w Plutarch said: "Looking into history, as i f to a mirror, I try to change m y life to the g o o d and m ake it fo llo w in g the exam ple o f those w h ose brave stories are told. A ll these remind permanent and clo se relations, through the history w e receive each person o f great people in our house as a dear guest, know w h o he is and w hat m ade” .
Therefore, today I w ou ld like to remind in short the participants o f the conference about the main factor in the developm ent o f the scien tific personnel and K. I. Satpayev's desert in solution to this issue.
K. I. Satpayev as the President and as a D irector o f the institute has collected in by the piece around him post-graduate students o f a university, PhD s, people o f industry w h o deserved, devoted towards the science not on ly, he has nursed them creating all facilities for perfection, education, w ork and even w ay o f life. B ein g a strict ju d ge in matters o f moral, responsible, con scien tiou sn ess and d iligence to h im self, and he dem anded from others it. A s a rule, his ch oice o f invitation to the A cad em y w as justified. M ost o f them have b ecom e lev e l w ith their m entor, they w ere his true com panions, continuers his affair, ideas, plans after his decease.
The status "Satpayever" w as the h igh est award w ith recognition for a scientist, an industry-worker.
The cohort w h ich w as constituted o f outstanding scientists w h o had com e together from all scientific branch o f Kazakhstan, sp ecially from g e o lo g y have provided high scien tific lev el and status o f the A cad em y o f Scien ces and the Institute, even after his decease his young colleagu es and com panions for four decades.
H e did not a llow the thought that som ething m ay remain undecided. He knew h o w to con vin ce and achieved o f p ositive solutions o f all issu es in connection w ith developm ent o f scien ce. In the nam e o f this he did not spare h im self, he did not consider the tim e, he w as devoted com p letely and exerted his and others' every effort to achievem ent the set purposes. He received huge m oral satisfaction from su ccesses in the solution even o f the sm allest issu es in connection w ith the developm ent o f any scien tific institution and the entire A cad em y in general. He considered, taking part actively in the d ecision s o f the m ost important matters o f econ om ic and cultural d evelopm ent in the country and republic is his duty. The labor for the love o f the socialist hom eland, he b eliev ed that m eaning o f life is in science and labor w as his m ain obligation.
H e show ed farsightedness and saw great benefit and prospect in his p ositive d ecision s for the developm ent o f science and national econ om y and he show ed strong-w ill and high persistence. He liked repeating that the m ost truthful politics is a p olitics o f principle. K anysh Im antaevich Satpayev alw ays tried to inspire the scien tific young workers w ith characteristics.
A s m entioned by his com panions that personnels w ere selected and prepared on the basis o f K anysh Im antayevich's phenom enon and his characteristic feature. This experience matters particularly at the present stage o f d evelopm ent o f scien ce-stage virtually com plete renew al o f personnel, change o f generations, the lack o f specialists in the m ost important areas o f g eo lo g ica l scien ce. A nd this w ay has to unbroken and requires goin g ahead. A s know n, since first day o f his arriving in Karsakpay K. I. Satpayev had started to care for industry workers like o f a scien tific personnel, then he cared for the entire A cadem y w hen he had m oved to A lm aty for the position o f D irector in the Kazakh branch o f the A cad em y o f Scien ces U. S. S. R. o f the Institute o f g eo lo g ica l scien ces. S u ffice it to m ention even in 1944 the number

S. S. R. in the R epublican A cad em y o f S ciences. A ll the old generation scientists regarded w ith him as a teacher and m entor although K anysh Im antaevich has not been a legal scien tific teacher for neither o f them . M oreover, K anysh Im antaevich had written every scien tific paper h im se lf alm ost. A m ong o f 800 publications w h ich published by him only 30 publications have co-authors. E xcept o f M. P. R usakov (5 papers), I. I. B ok (4 papers), the rem aining co-authors are w ith him on 1-2 articles.
T hese facts have great educational significance for the m iddle and younger generation. O nly personal responsibility for the results, publications increases scien tist’s responsibility, brings prestige and recognition. He gave a perm it o f w a y to m any leaders o f Kazakhstan scien ce, education, production. This K. I. Satpaev’s phenom enon, his personality features o f character, unique abilities o f m ajor organizer, statesman and public figure allow ed him to com m unicate w ith the outstanding personalities o f the Soviet period. A m on g those w ith w h o K. I. Satpayev cooperated actively and kept clo se business relationship, they w ere outstanding personalities: M inisters o f the U. S. S. R. - P. Y . A ntropov, E. P. Slavskiy, academ ics - V . A . Obruchev, M . A . U so v , V . L. K om arov, A . N . N esm eyan ov, I. P. Bardin, D. I. Scherba

It is am azing that a private geological-en gin eer, a scientist w as deciding state the country's issu es, by m eeting w ith the leaders o f the U. S. S. R. governm ent S. Ordzhanikidze, K oganovichom , N . K osyginym and others. E. P. Slavskiy m ade a note that K. I. Satpayev's prestige w as incontestable authority in the higher ech elon s o f pow er and the U. S. S. R. A cad em y o f S ciences.

The largest number o f laureates on the h igh est lev el o f research had the Institute o f g eo lo g ica l scien ces, the w inner o f the Lenin and State Prizes o f the U. S. S. R. (16), H onored Scientist (11) o f the state awards o f the Kazakh S. S. R. The Institute o f G eological Scien ces w h ich w as created by K. I. Satpayev and his com panions allow s to stand enough strongly today. The Institute o f G eological S cien ces nam ed after K. I. Satpayev have celebrated recently its 75 th birthday, retaining the status o f the republic leader in g e o lo g ica l science.
A nd today paying once again, tribute to the pioneers, w orking the older generation - follow ers for their enorm ous project, w e hope that the younger generation is w orthy to continue the glorious traditions o f se lfle ss service to their people o f country. R em em ber that w ithout these scientists in the tw entieth century w ould not have been his face and depends on y ou n o w w hat it w ill be in the tw entieth century.
