ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

First o f all we are really felt thankful to the god because giving us the courage to finish our project 2 (KEU 380) in the given time. Our sincere appreciation must be extended to the instructor who have read this project paper and sent in comment;

corrections and suggestions to us complete this project paper.

We would like to thank to our supervisor, Mr.Mohd Affandi B. Shafie who has contributed immensely towards the completion o f this project and project paper. We also would like to thank acknowledge the contributions o f our entire group for KEU 380 PROJECT 2 who consist o f six students. Their creative ideas, suggestions and feedback had been very helpful in terms to finish this project.

Finally, we would like to thank to our friends and other people who had involve directly or indirectly in this project. Not forgotten to our family especially our parents who have given their fully support and advice in order to finish this project. Thank you all.

ABSTRACT

As we known, the population o f human was increase greatly nowadays. The increasing o f population means that the demand for energy is greater year by years. But, most o f energy that we use nowadays is not renewable energy and it was decrease and may be finish in a short time. So, from now we must have the alternative energy that will support the demand o f human. Wind is a form o f solar energy. Winds are caused by the uneven heating o f the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularities o f the earth's surface, and rotation o f the earth. Wind flow patterns are modified by the earth's terrain, bodies o f water, and vegetation. Humans use this wind flow, or motion energy, for many purposes:

sailing, flying a kite, and even generating electricity.

The terms wind energy or wind power describes the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks (such as grinding grain or pumping water) or a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND

Project 2(KEU 380) is one of the subject that we must take in part six in order to get the diploma in electrical engineering. In this project we have six members which divided into three sub group which in each sub-group has two members. Each sub-group has their own task. The title of our project that was given to us is the electricity that produced by the wind (alternative energy).

Sub-group one for introduction/source, second sub-group for converter/inverter and third sub-group for the output. At the end of this semester each sub-group will combine their task (report) and send them to our supervisor. On the last semester, we have done our research on building the platform for the project. This semester, our task is to build the project in order to pass the KEU 380.

The objectives of this experiment were basically to understand the power of NAND and NOR gates in building other gates and then be able to think of any other logic
