Financial management behavior is a collection of various goals based on the use of financial resources allocated and acquired by the individual concerned. In addition, the age gap between the current generation and the older generation also affects the management of financial management behavior that produces different effects. Scientific evidence has shown that young people do not practice proper financial management such as basic financial tasks, budgeting and planning their long-term savings.

This evidence suggests something interesting to analyze a person's behavior towards financial management during their young and old adulthood. The first chapter is, for example, an introduction to financial management behavior among UMK Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Business (FKP) students.

According to Halim and Setyawan (2021), the relationship between financial knowledge and financial management behavior is as follows: if one has sufficient financial knowledge, excellent financial management behavior is expected. The belief that one has control over one's life is called an individual's internal locus of control. The outcome is said to be a personality outcome under an internal locus of control.

Furthermore, some argue that the locus of external control in financial management is negative in nature (Perry & Morris, 2005). H3: There is a positive correlation between locus of control and financial management behavior among FKP students in UMK. We can conclude from our research that their belief in self-success affects their financial management behavior.
