INVENTION. INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION 2009 (ITEX'09)

Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition 2009 (ITEX'09) was held on 15-17th May 2009 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Malaysia, organized by MINDS (Malaysian Invention & Design Society). Held annually,lTEX is the region's leading exhibition to showcase new inventions,new technologies and products, with the aim to secure investment, manufacturing and commercialization prospects and partners. It is an opportunity to researchers especially from local to maximize exposure of award winning products and technologies to world audience,showcase enhanced marketability to a new market and for international recognition.

In conjunction with the ITEX'09, five researchers from the School of Science and Technology (SST) were involved in representing the university to showcase their new inventions and products.They were Prof. Dr. Marcus Jopony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lee Ping Chin,Assoc. Prof. Dr.

How Siew Eng, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Chong Mun and Dr. Ivy Wong Nyet Kui. SST won three medals through the invention of SM-TUFF: A Versatile Adsorbent for Removal of Chromium,Cr(1I1) and Cr(VI) from Wastewaters by Prof. Dr. Marcus Jopony,Colorectal Cancer Alert Kit by Assoc.Prof.Dr.Lee Ping Chin and Rood rot fungus biopesticide by Dr.lvyWong Nyet KuLCongratulatlons to the winners.
